Rocket League announced that its Blueprint Update will be released on December 4 at 1:00 PM EST.
The content update includes :
- Blueprints and credits – Once the update goes live, crates and keys will be replaced by blueprints and credits,
- The Item Shop – Players can browse and purchase a rotating selection of in-game items with the new Item shop
- Rocket Pass 5 – This will go live following the update and more information will be revealed next week

Once the update goes live any unopened crate in the inventory will be converted into a blueprint of the same series. These blueprints will drop after select online matches. The new blueprints tab in the inventory will showcase all opened and unopened blueprints.
Keys which will be replaced by credits can be used for a lot of things. Such as building blueprints, buying items or upgrading to Rocket Pass Premium. Each key can be converted to 100 credits. The update also gives players the ability to archive their items. This will be kept in the archive tab in the inventory.
Rocket League revealed that since the update is pretty is major, there will be complete stoppage of crates dropping and purchases for 25 hours. Players cannot purchase keys or DLC packs and no player-to-player trades or trade-ins starting on December 3 12:00pm EST. However, all Rocket League online playlists will be running.
