Immortals has signed French mid laner Jérémy “Eika” Valdenaire to its League of Legends roster ahead of the 2020 LCS season. “Happy to announce that I joined Immortals. Excited to show what I am capable of :)”, Eika wrote. The 23-year-old first started playing competitively in League of Legends in 2014. In fact he even quit university to play League of Legends. He has since then played for multiple organisations including Team Nevo, Unicorns of Love, Gamers2, Elements, FC Schalke 04, Team Forge and Team LDLC.
Immortals return to LCS
Eika played for Team LDLC from the start of 2017. He led the European roster to numerous first place titles in the 2019 LFL season. Immortals joined the North Amercian League of Legends region after acquiring Infinite Esports and Entertainment in June. Infinite is the parent company OpTic Gaming. The head coaches Thomas “Zoboutine” Si-Hassen and Kublai “Kubz” Barlas, for its LCS and Academy teams respectively have been retained.
Many of the existing OpTic Gaming players have ended their contracts. Other players like Joshua “Dardoch” Hartnett, Lee “Crown” Min-ho and William “eteos: Hartman have left for Team SoloMid (TSM), Counter Logic Gaming and 100 Theives respectively.
Before singing Eika, Immortals finalised deals for four other players. They are Top laner Paul “sOAZ” Boyer, AD carry Johnny “Altec” Ru, support Nickolas “Hakuho” Surgent and jungler Jake “Xmithie” Puchero.
Immortals have previously had a lot of success in the NA LCS in 2016-17 . In fact they missed out to TSM at the 2017 summer playoffs just by a hair.With their new signings, Immortals look to carry on from where they left.
With the signing of Eika, Immortals have completed their 2020 League of Legends roster. Their current roster looks like this :
