After a long wait, AOE is finally back. Age Of Empires 4 is developed by Microsoft and Relic Entertainment, creators of the Company of Heroes series and other beloved strategy games. As of now not much has been revealed about the gameple. However there is a somewhat vague picture as to what exactly one can expect from the game. The basics of AOE starts off with picking a nation or civilisation. Then guiding to prosperity through one of four victory conditions – Score, domination, building a world wonder or uncovering relics from the map and returning them to your home base. You have to manage your “empire”, gather resources, develop new technology, train your military, build new structures and of course battle other nations on the map.

It is assumed that Relic will stick to the roots of its gameplay. What we can expect is for new nations on the map. This will in turn add to new bonuses and advantages to weigh in before starting a map. There is also a possibility that Relic might provide more opportunity for innovative tactics and strategy. According to sources, it is likely that there could be addition of new features like hero units and skill trees.
