While League of Legends fans are still recovering from bot laner Senna’s release, Riot has revealed Aphelios’ lore just days after the big release. Riot revealed the biography of a new marksman on the league universe. z, the Weapon of the Faithful will be the new addition to the cast of Targonian Lunari which includes Diana and Zoe.
None of the shadowy marksman’s abilities haven’t been revealed yet. Riot updated a detailed short story about Aphelios and his twin sister Alune. The short story reads- they were celebrated in their community as “Children of Destiny” by those of the Lunari Faith. Alune conjured spiritual magic and training as a seer to reveal hidden pathways and the truth by the moon’s light. Aphelios on the other hand was given physical prowess and he mastered the mystical moonstone blades.
The twins were living under the role of Solari.
Soon an ancient temple called thr Marus Omegnum appears in the spirit realm for the first time in centuries. The Solari move in to take control of the temple and its treasures. Alune then enters the temple where she unlocks her full potential and Aphelios stays outside holding off the Solari armies. She then converges her magic with his skill by pushing her power into Aphelios’ hands – “ those Solari would not live to see the sun again”.
Together the pair found their destiny. The bio reads Together, they would be the weapon the Lunari needed, bound by pain and sacrifice.“Only apart could they be together—their souls brushing across the veil, distant, yet impossibly close, converging into something they could not understand.”
Since the Champion’s backstory is based on the power of the mood, the champion’s abilities may be similar to Lunari characters Diana and Zoe. Aphelios’ arrival on the Public Beta Environment is expected to be sometime around November 26th. The official release is set on December 10.
