FIFA 20 LALIGA

With help of Laliga, Fifa 20 gets million spectators online

Although football matches have been cancelled due to the coronavirus update, FIFA 20 has made sure to keep its fans entertained thanks to Laliga. Last weekend (22nd March) a charity Esports tournament was held. It was organised by renowned Esports player Ibai Llanos. It was held in a partnership with Spanish Banking group Satander and EA Sports. The decision was taken considering this could be something people would watch at home also creating awareness to not go outside and risk yourself. The tournament saw 19 players from the premier division of Spanish football league competing with one another for a title in this esports FIFA 20 game tournament. The tournament saw more than a million viewers, although La Liga is carrying further analysis to find out the actual reach using the hashtag #LaLigaSantanderChallenge. This initiative was taken after other esport tournaments were organised including one by Formula One.

“The goal was to have a good time, laugh, entertain ourselves in these difficult times for everyone”

Real Madrid striker Marco Asensio who has been out due to injury emerged victorious in the tournament after easily going through the semi-finals by a 7-0 victory against Eibar. “The goal was to have a good time, laugh, entertain ourselves in these difficult times for everyone. And also donate in the fight against COVID-19. And we have succeeded. Congratulations @IbaiLlanos and all who have made it possible.” That’s how Laliga helped FIFA 20 get 1 million viewers.

The tournament was highly successful in both. Achieving a high viewership and spreading awareness about the Coronavirus as well as in raising money for charity.
