Mousesports vs Fnatic Grand Final EPL Season 10 Result

ESL Pro League champions Mousesports

Mousesprots beat Fnatic at the ESL Pro League Season 10 Finals at Odense, Denmark with a scoreline of 3:0 in a Bo5 series. All the lead up to the grand finals was about the unpredictable nature of the game and how each team had bounced back in 2019. It was the guns “brollan” and “Ropz” on both teams which were in running for the MVP given their team would win. It was “Ropz” at the end who claimed the trophy.

Starting off with Veto Fnatic surprisingly banned Dust II while Mousesports as predicted banned Overpass. The picks were as follows: Fnatic picked Inferno and Mirage while Mouz picked Train and Nuke.

Here is how the grand final played out in front of a fully packed crowd:

Inferno (Map 1):

Inferno CS:GO ESL Mousesports vs Fnatic

The grand final started off with Fnatic’s pick of Inferno. Mouz started the map brightly and raced to 5:3 lead on their CT. Fnatic started growing more into the game and in fact ended the first with a lead of 6:9. “Brollan” was the main linchpin of the Fnatic attack looking on form from the right go. Shifting to the ‘T’ side Mouz set the pace and never allowed Fnatic to build on their lead. Except for “Brollan” the entire Fnatic squad did not seem to show and could manage to win only 2 rounds. Mouz closed out the map with a 16:11 scoreline. Ropz ended the map with 27 kills.

Train (Map 2):

Mouz knew that picking Train as their map pick would force them to start the map on the T side; the less favoured side on the map. But Mouz had done their homework and raced to a 5:0 scoreline. Fnatic following the trend on Inferno bounced back again winning 9 out of the next 10 rounds to end the half with a 6:9 scoreline. “Brollan” again was at the heart of the Fnatic  comeback while others struggling to keep up. Fnatic knew to stay in the game they needed to replicate the start Mouz had on their T side but they failed badly in doing so. Fnatic managed to pick up just 1 round with Mouz having an answer to each of Fnatic strats. Mouz closed out the map 16:10. It was “Ropz” again with the most kills but all of Mouz fragged with the lowest fragger at 17 kills.

Mirage (Map 3):

Mouz started on the CT side and for a change ended the first half with a lead of 10:5. Though Fnatic lost the first half there were signs that the other players were starting to wake up with “Krimz” leading the charge. As for Mouz they simply continued in the manner which they knew: play aggressively in the mid rounds. After gaining the first half lead came the most difficult part for “karrigan”- to close out the map and series. Both the teams won rounds to and fro with neither team getting a firm hold of their economy. But it was “Ropz” and “frozen” who came up with the goods and helped Mouz to close the map 16:11. “chrisJ” and “karrigan” too had their moments in the series with “Ropz” and “woxic” as the standouts. For Fnatic it was “Brollan” only who showed up with the rest having a hard time. It was a miserable time for Fnatic’s IGL “Golden” who only managed to rack up 30 kills across 3 maps.

The most impressive thing about Mouz run at the EPL was that they managed to beat 3 out of the 4 best teams in the world considering the HLTV ranking. (Astralis, Evil Geniuses and Fnatic)

This sets them up to build up for a exciting 2020 in the scene and be challengers in every tournament they participate. They also receive a lion share of the USD $600,000 ; a point on the Intel Grand Slam and a direct spot at IEM Katowice 2020.
