WWE Mayhem allows you to build your own team with the available superstars. The superstars in the game include Brock “The Beast” Lesnar, John Cena, AJ Styles. You can also start your own character’s career in Mayhem and then earn money by doing the pay-per-view appearances,. Then, once you’ve shaken off the ring rust, take on all comers in online VERSUS play and earn your shot at the title.
How good is WWE Mayhem?
Actually, WWE Mayhem is pretty good considering the performance limits of the mobile phones. It does a good job of a game ideal for killing time. The easy to learn controls are fun to play. Also, you get online Versus to play against real players once you get bored of playing against the AI players.
The developers have taken efforts in making the game. The trademark/signature moves have been added to the game to make it more original. The characters soar high along the ropes of the ring while executing the moves, which gives a different kind of adrenaline rush to the players. This added with the fluid and smooth controls of the game really pay off to improve the quality of the game.
However, it is not long before players hit a plateau as the linearity of the game just feels bad. Though some new updates are coming from time to time, it still gets way so same after some time. Apart from the repeated game style and becoming pay to win after a few couples of hours, everything is top-notch.
Gameplay
Gameplay-wise WWE Mayhem is mostly similar to the other 2d arcade action games like Injustice: Gods Amongst us which feature swipe to shoot gameplay technique. The engine here is quite deep when you play with it a bit. While the basic tap, swipe, and tap a special move that powered up in the bottom left corner stuff is there, there is a little more to it. You can counter special moves if you time it correctly. You can hit with hard attacks, light attacks, and you can block. Timing is the key to WWE Mayhem. The point at which you block the enemy attack or also launch an attack is very crucial.
At a point, you will start losing all the matches you play. That is the point where you may consider upgrading your superstar with the acquired points. This is like hitting the gym for making your character even more beefy and stronger than ever. Beefing up your characters is the key to success because winning matches is the only way to secure the big rewards.
Animations are good in this game. It is very good than other wrestling games. Animation is nice but need some improvements. If we talking about moves in this game are unlimed I think that many moves are included in this game of the superstars like RKO, DDT, Spear, Suplex, STF, Tursing finale, F5, Kimoro lock, Pedigree and list goes on .
Overall the gaming experience is good due to the tap fight and all the rest of the features.
How are the Superstars divided into various classes WWE mayhem?
The superstars are divided into classes according to the various characteristics of each of them. This helps you to create a uniques roster to counter any specific type of opposition.
- POWERHOUSE
- Powerhouses are the superstars that are built like tanks and take on damage more than anybody. They are not so good performing characters but can be used to defend. The main unique moves of them include those that involve lifting the opponents.
- An example of such a move is the “Chokeslam” that is mainly executed by guys like Undertaker and Kane who have appalling upper body strength that demands them to lift opponents heavier than their own weight like Batista, Brock Lesnar & Goldberg.
- Note: Powerhouse can be used to counter the High Flying Superstars
- HIGH FLYER
- High Flyers are known for the risky moves like the suicidal jumps from the ropes and some other energetic action moves that the powerhouses are incapable of doing.
- These Superstars use highly complex and spectacular moves than their counterparts, who uses brute strength.
- Note: High Flyers can be used to counter the Showman superstars
- SHOWMAN
- Showman is the character that relies on audience support. Thirst excel in showmanship and putting a great show for the audience. They are mostly the popular superstars that have high morale.
- A few notable Superstars who’d fall under this class are Hulk Hogan, Shawn Michaels, John Cena, and The Rock.
- Note: Showman superstars can be used to counter the brawlers’ superstars
- BRAWLERS
- Brawlers are the Superstars who are extremely wild in the ring and perform take-downs and mounted punches.
- They like to engage in close hand to hand combat without much high flying moves.
- They make the match really crazy and interesting with their unplanned moves and maneuvers. Dean Ambrose, Stone Cold Steve Austin is the most sought after Brawlers in WWE Mayhem.
- Note: Brawlers can be used to counter the Wildcards superstars
- WILDCARDS
- They are generally termed as amateurs or newcomers to the show.
- They apply different grapple holds and are usually good with submissions. Many times they also perform moves off the top rope like suicide dives.

What are STEAL SKILLS in WWE Mayhem?
Steal Skills enable your superstars to execute the signature move of your opponent. For example, dean Ambrose can execute the ROCK BOTTOM of the Rock on the Rock. Steal Skill can only be applied to Overdriven superstars. The skills can be collected by either winging matches or upgrading your superstars. They can also be earned in specific special events.
Performing Steal Skills: make sure you always watch the Specials tab on the left-hand side. Steal Skills appear as Signature Moves (2nd Special on the Energy Bar) and sport a different color from the rest for ease of identification. Tap the button when it appears to activate the skill and give your opponents a taste of their own medicine.
What are SMASH SKILLS in WWE Mayhem?
Smash skill empowers your superstars with crazy smashing abilities that you can not have otherwise. Like steal skills, it can only be applied to the overdriven players. Smash Skills for respective Classes are as follows:
- Showman – Chest Slap
- PowerHouse – Forearm Club
- Brawler – Lou Thesz Press
- Wildcard – Mudhole Stomps
- Technician – Turn Buckle Head Smash
- High flyer – Yes Kicks
After the skin is activate it is added to the signature moves of the player. Smash Skills appear as Signature Moves (2nd Special on the Energy Bar) and when activated, your superstar performs the move. After the first Smash, two circles (Blue and Green) appear on the screen with a ‘TAP’ button at the center. You need to tap on the screen exactly when the circles overlap to carry out a smash move on your opponent. You can keep repeating this and carry out multiple Smash moves which are indicated by a counter at the center of the circles.
Belts in WWE Mayhem
Belts are a kind of championships awarded in WWE Mayhem. Ex – If a story mode gives you 25 XP Match Reward after winning the Season your Belt earns you an extra 50 XP as Title Bonus Reward. Thus you end up earning 75 XP for that season. If you continue playing Story Mode after Title Bonus Reward is activated, you can keep earning double XP rewards for that specific time.
However, a belt won in online PvP mode is only available for online PvP mode and not for offline career campaign
BOTTOMLINE
Overall the game is quite fun. But it gets tiring and pay to win after couple of hours and also once you go ahead in the campaign. But seeing the good quality sound effects, original moves and licensed superstars, there is nothing very much to complain about. It is a recommended product to be tried by all WWE fans all around the world.
