TOP 10 MORTAL KOMBAT 11 CHARACTERS

Top 10 Mortal Kombat 11

Developed by NetherRealm, Mortal Kombat 11 had created quite a hype at the time of its release. It is the franchise’s best release so far. Providing a deeper and more personalized experience, Mortal Kombat 11 is quite the game you should be playing at this time of quarantine period. Featuring a roster of new and returning Klassic fighters, Mortal Kombat’s best in-class cinematic story mode continues the epic saga over 25 years in the making.

In this article, we shall discuss the top 10 Mortal Kombat 11 characters:

10. Cetrion

Cetrion Top 10 Mortal Kombat 11

A powerful Elder God with a fatality that feels like it belongs in Injustice 2, Cetrion’s moveset comprises a mix of earthly elements to batter opponents with fire, water, earth and wind. All of this is certainly visually stunning – and comes with a Fatal Blow that shows off NetherRealm’s immaculate particle effects work – but Cetrion gets bumped all the way to the bottom for being that little bit too useless when it comes to chaining longer strings together.

9. Cassie Cage

Cassie Cage

At number 9 of our Top 10 Mortal Kombat 11 characters we have, Cassie Cage.  Cassie is cocky but self-aware, strong and combo-heavy, but with the backup of an additional drone and scores of pistol flurries. Her base attacks are all super simple to memorise and combine, but it’s in keeping the pressure on and flicking through them like lightning that makes Cassie SO much fun  .

8. Jacqui Briggs

Jacqui Briggs Top 10 MK 11

Like Cassie, she comes with very easily memorisable left/right punch combos and deployable gadgets keeping foes at bay or in the air for followups, but where Jacqui excels as a character is through MK 11’s story. Her main role in the campaign semi-mimics that of Cassie and Johnny coming together last time around, fleshing out her personality by letting her hang with a younger, time-plucked version of father, Jax.

Not to mention, her arcade ending is a surprisingly emotional tear-jerker, centred on making one ultimate sacrifice for the greater good of saving older Jax’s waning mental health. It’s one hell of a swerve I didn’t see coming, and made Jacqui a powerful character in-keeping with such a robust moveset.

7. The Kollector

The Kollector

The Kollector has six arms and first appears as a gold and trinket-hoarding thief who is extremely loyal to Shao Kahn. His arcade ending is the best part.  It turns out his allegiance with Shao Kahn was borne from necessity, as the entire Naknadan race were under Shao’s fierce rule.

6. Johnny Cage

Johny CAge Top 10 Mortal Kombat Character

Easily the character NetherRealm have had the most fun designing this time, Johnny Cage comes with fatalities that delve into stand-up comedy, alongside a fantastic fourth wall break where he repeatedly attempts to uppercut his opponent’s head off, only for multiple “takes” to happen, as it’s revealed we’re standing on a movie set.For MK 11’s story and Johnny’s role in the mythos, NetherRealm have moved away from claiming the Cage lineage is some ethereally powerful “energy” that can topple the likes of Shinnok, instead centring on exploring just how much Johnny has aged since that very first game.

5. Shao Kahn

Shao Khan Top 10 Mortal Kombat 11

At number 5 of our Top 10 Mortal Kombat characters list, we have Shao Kahn. Finally being playable outside mods and in a 3D incarnation of MK for the first time, it sucked that Shao Kahn was resigned to a pre-order bonus. Still, the full extent of his abilities are easy to get your head around and master, to say the least.Almost all of his larger combos peddle off one button, encouraging you to experiment outside of the stock moves list, and that’s before you factor in a devastatingly effective spear-throw, alongside a distance-closing hammer smash that cuts right through the majority of defence.

4. Liu Kang

LIU Kang

Essentially MK’s “main character” (inasmuch as he won the first tournament), Liu Kang’s MK 11 incarnation is the best yet, by a country mile.Discarding the notion of locking his flaming fist combos or bicycle kicks to separate loadouts, here Kang is free to be the dragon we’ve always seen him as.You can further modify him with additional nunchaku stances and counters – as well as another Shaolin Stance that’ll goad unwitting players into attacking too early – but Liu’s base moveset is powerful, stingingly fast and just plain fun to bust out.

3. Erron Black

Erron Black Top 10 Mortal Kombat 11 Characters

Erron Black was the main character of Mortal Kombat 10 and is secondary to Jacqui Briggs in Mortal Kombat 11. Black has tremendous versatility and his pistol and rifle attacks help him get in control of the game. He also has one of the game’s mid-range attacks , making him a potent threat for enemies.

2. Sub-zero

Sub Zero

You’re either a Sub-Zero or Scorpion kinda guy, but thankfully, Sub’s refined moveset finally gets away from just spamming freeze projectiles and running in for an uppercut.By design, MK 11 only lets you pull off two freeze blasts anyway, and that’s if you kept this attack selectable in Sub-Zero’s overall moveset. Instead, what you get after putting the time in is a powerful fighter with reliable three-hit combos, axe-extensions to these combos, and a variety of attacks that close the distance so you can keep the pressure on.Following that up with a freeze to then hold your foe in place for more brutality is just frosted icing on the cake.

1 .  Scorpion

Scorpion

It’s no surprise that the favorite character of Mortal Kombat creator and lead director Ed Boon, is also a complete powerhouse in-game.Coming with everything from lightning-fast jabs to teleports, flame breath juggles to six-hit whip flurries, a good Scorpion player can dominate the competition in seconds.Loot-wise, Nether Realm give you a handful of skins and colour combinations that pay tribute to their almost three decade-long history. Letting you swap out Scorpion’s spear tips alongside his swords and mask was a stroke of genius. The devs clearly had a blast experimenting with thousands of different customizable elements for their flagship character, and it’s paid off in every respect.
