CSGO and cricket are two very different types of sports. The former has existed since 2012 while the latter has been around for over a century. There however are some striking similarities between the two sports and the teams which play it.
Cricket has been the front runner as the most popular sport in India whereas esports has seen a surge in the past few weeks. Both these sports are perfectly capable of entertaining crowds with multiple twists and turns.
There are certain teams playing both these games whose journey to success is quite similar.
Here we list down the teams of CSGO and cricket who are quite reminiscent of one another.
1. India and SK/Luminosity/MiBR
There is no denying thay Indian and MiBR fans have the most vocal fan base in cricket and CS:Go respectively. Both these teams have played a significant role for the games to be so popular in the region.
India and MiBR have even more similarity when it comes winning major championships. India have won two cricket world cups while MiBR too have 2 CS:GO majors to their name.
The victories spurred the sports on in India and Brazil respectively after which it has become an integral part of the culture.
Another similarity comes in the players which represent these teams. MS Dhoni from India and “FalleN” from MiBR both captains have a father figure like personality. Virat Kohli and “coldzera” both have a fiery personality and are superstars in any team they play. You also don’t instigate any of the two as it can come and bite you back.
2. Bangladesh and Furia
Regional rivals to MiBR are Furia just like Bangladesh are to India. Both Furia and Bangladesh stepped on the scene after the success gained by their rivals.
With both teams set up strong now on, they are ready to challenge their elder brother for supremacy in the region. While Bangladesh haven’t toppled India yet, Furia seem to have an upper hand against MiBR.
Bangladesh and Furia both have groomed on an anggressive style of play which catches their opponents offgaurd very often.
3. West Indies and Fnatic
These legendary teams have a similar path of journey right from the get go. West Indies won the first ever cricket world cup while Fnatic where the first CS:Go major winners.
Apart from being the first ever champions in their respective fields, WI and Fnatic have a playstyle which is unique to them.
Players of both these teams give their hearts out while playing and always have the best celebrations in the game. Be it Dwayne Bravo’s Champion song or “JW”‘s knife plays, we are sure to be entertained when WI and Fnatic play.
Both these teams made a comeback to the international scene after a slump in form during the middle years. And both of their comebacks were successful considering WI won the ICC T20 World in 2016 and Fnatic were recently crowned the champions of ESL Pro League.
