In Part 3 of CSGO and Cricket equivalents we try to compare some more international cricket teams and their counterparts.
1. South Africa and Natus Vincere
There hasn’t been one competition where these two teams haven’t been one of the favorites. But as unlucky as it gets SA and Na’Vi have failed to win any world cups or major championships respectively.
Both the teams have also blessed with the most skilled player on the planet in the form of de Villers and “s1mple” playing for them.
SA and Na’Vi have come close multiple times to break the duck only to bow out at the most crucial stages.
Additionally, the pair have a huge international fan following with the presence of super stars in their team.
2. Sri Lanka and Virtus.Pro
The fallen giants of both find themselves next in our list. There was a time when Sri Lanka and VP were considered fierce competitors and a super power.
They even managed to win a World Cup and CS:Go major in their prime days. The likes of “pashabiceps” and Sangarkarra were utmost popular with fans and past legends of the game.
Once the reign of these players ended, Sri Lanka and VP have fallen off a cliff since with some embarrassing defeats to teams which they genreally would beat.
A re branding is now in place with hope that these two giants get back to where they belong.
3. England & Cloud9
The English developed the concept of cricket while it was an American who developed Counter Strike. You may ask what is that of relevance here. Well, both of the teams could not win a major championship even though it was their country men who developed these games until recently.
England and Cloud9 now have a World and a CS:Go major to their name after winning the most epic grand finales in both the sports. Cloud9’s victory in overtime at Boston 2018 and England’s super over win at ICC CWC 2019 have traits which are rare to see.
4. New Zealand and Team Liquid
We conclude Part 3 of CSGO and Cricket with New Zealand and Team Liquid , two of the most nicest and well behaved teams in professional cricket and CS:Go
NZ and Liquid are the two teams who always perform well only to choke in the finals of competitions like the World Cup and a Major. Liquid were often called chokers after failing to win major titles on two occasions while NZ have also failed to win a World Cup in two attempts they made it to the finals.
NZ and Liquid failure to win the titles have also a result some astronomical plays by their opponents. It was “coldzera” jumping AWP double at MLG Columbus whilst it was Ben Stokes who stole the trophy away from New Zealand.
Also the rivalry between Australia and New Zealand is as tense between Astralis and Liquid.
