China bans game outside china

Recently after banning the game Animal Crossing: New Horizons as it defamed the Chinese leader Xi Jinping, the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) has now brought out several new rules and regulations involving online games. The game Animal Crossing apparently also had a scene where the words “Free Hong Kong” could be seen.

Animal Crossing was banned in China

In what comes as a big shock to the gaming industry,China Bans Game Outside its own borders. China has banned all online gaming and chatting with foreign players using a firewall. According to the new guidelines, the Chinese players cannot play multiplayer games with people from outside the country.

Since the government does not have a way to see what is being talked about in the online arena while the games are going on they believe these games provide the players room to talk to the outside world without monitoring. This comes after there were several reports of Chinese players mentioning how loosely the CCP had handled the Coronavirus situation.

Apart from this, the new law grants the CCP the power to closely monitor the single player games being played online. This results in a complete ban on the games involving Zombies, plague, map editing, role-playing and games involving organizing a union.

This isn’t all; they have also imposed a ban on playing games in the time period 10pm-8 am for children below 18 years of age. Further they added, to “prevent gaming addiction” restrictions will be imposed on the amount of game purchase a person can do.

This comes as a way for the CCP to be able to have more control over what information the outside world is getting. Also they now can see over what news the Chinese people are getting about the reaction to how china handles the pandemic.
