Fantastic Action Game Samurai Shodown 2019 Now Available on Epic Games Store

Samurai Showdown

Samurai Shodown is a fighting game first released in 1993 by SNK who developed as well as published it for the Nat Geo Arcade. Unlike other similar fighting games Samurai Shodown was based in ‘feudal-era Japan’, set in the 18th century and focused on more weapon based combat rather than hand to hand combat. What gives the game a much more authentic feel is the  background music that has been taken from the same era.

A newer and a much more latest version of the game came out in 2019 with the same name, which was now available for arcades, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. The game takes place between the 1993 game and Samurai Shodown V and is the 12th game in the Shodown series.

The game is set in the year 1787 and has quite an interesting story to back up the gameplay. The storyline follows around evil forces hovering over a gloomy Japan at that time, and fighters/Samurais from across oceans come up to take on these forces and finish them off. Apart from the storyline, the actual fighting in the game is quite good too, with the involvement of weapons, the fight becomes much more interesting.

The version in 2019 was released as a reboot to the series. The game received quite some good reception from players around the world as well as from the critics. The game was praised for upgrading graphics and making the gameplay challenging as ever and was cited as a great reboot to the series.

What is a great news for players is the fact that the game is now available on the Epic Games Store from 11th June 2020. That means anyone with a Windows PC/ Laptop can purchase and download the game and experience it without a gaming console or an arcade. So click here to buy and play this amazing action game.
