The League of Legends World Championship 2014 was the 4th edition in this annual event conducted by the game’s developer Riot Games. How big it was can be found out from the fact that their anthem ‘Warrior’ was sung by The Imagine Dragons. The tournament was their biggest up till that time. Group Stage
The 16 selected teams were divided in groups of four. The groups were made very carefully such as for eg the same group can’t have 2 American teams. The groups A and B played in Taiwan whereas groups C and D played in Singapore. Each team in the group played with every other team twice in a best of One match. Quarter and Semi Finals
The top 2 teams from each group went on to play the semi finals. The format was that the teams 1 will play with teams of the different groups who played in the same region for example Singapore C1 will play Singapore D2 and so on. All the matches were best of 5.

Samsung White
Almost 40,000 people attended the finals between Samsung white and Star Horn Royal, and more than 27 million people were watching on the streams, streamed live by 40 broadcast partners. The Samsung White’s were the favorite and they easily won the match getting a 3-1 match win.
Overall the tournament was extravagant. It accumulated 288 million viewers throughout the tournament. The pool prize too was one of the biggest of it’s times amounting over $2 million. You can watch a video about it by clicking the link below!
