Day 4 review of DreamHack Masters Spring 2020

DreamHack Masters Spring 2020

Day 4 of DreamHack Masters Spring 2020 saw the start of Group B of the European region and continuation of Group B of the NA region. Here is the recap of Day 4 of DreaHack Masters Spring 2020.

1. Europe Group B

Group B has mouseports, BIG, compLexity and MAD Lions competing to progress further in the competition. mouseports were the favorites but a forgettable performance at the ESL One: Road to Rio raised some doubts about the teams performances.

Those doubts turned for the worst as they lost to compLexity 2-0 in the opening game of the group. The international squad looked off pace and dis organized for most part of the game. They lost 8-16 on Dust II and 9-16 on Inferno to continue their downfall from the previous month. compLexity capitalized on their opponents poor form and started their journey with a bang. “konfig” looked in great form and ended the match with 40 kills.

The second match was between Flashpoint S1 champions MAD Lions up against BIG. MAD Lions were coming after missing the ESL Pro League and the ESL One:Road to Rio which was highlighted in their performances. They looked scrappy in some parts of the game which eventually lead them to lose the series 2-1. They picked up Mirage 16-11 but lost on Nuke 7-16 and on Vertigo 13-16. BIG looked phenomenal on Nuke as they have been over the past few months. “syrson” was the top performer and ended with 69 kills over the series.

2. North America Group A – Day 4

Day 4 of the NA group saw the group take an interesting turn as MiBR beat Chaos 2-0 to set up an intersting final two days of the group. MiBR won 16-12 on Mirage and 16-10 on Dust II to pose their first win. “fer” ended the series with a monumental 59 kills to his name with a +30 KD.

day 4 - fer ends the game with a +30 KD.

MiBR now face Liquid in their final match which both the teams need to win to have a chance at qualifying for the next stage. If MiBr win, Liquid are eliminated and if Liquid win MiBr have to wait for the result between Furia and Chaos to deicde their fate in the group.

Either way it will be interesting to see which one of the two giants fail to qualify and end their journey prematurely.

Note:- DreamHack Masters Spring 2020 was originally to take place in Jonkoping, Sweden but was shifted online due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
