SAGA is considered as one of the first and most successful uses of freemium model. This is published and developed by KING. After the success of their portal game CANDY CRUSH, the company decided to take another step and launched SAGA on April 12,2019 with 65 levels for FACEBOOK only. Later released IOS and Android version in the same year after its grand success and demand in the market.
Ellie Gibson of Euro gamer referred to Candy Crush Saga as 2013’s “Game of the Year”.
With the same concept of SAGA, the company had launched CANDY CRUSH SODA SAGA, (where a soda bottle piece can shift gravity), CANDY CRUSH JELLY SAGA (The game introduces jelly-filled squares. Matches made with candies occupying jelly-filled squares will generally cause all squares that were part of the match to become jelly-filled, with the goal of making all squares on the game board filled with jelly to complete the puzzle), CANDY CRUSH FRIENDS SAGA (in this the player may have the ability to select one of the series’ characters to assist with the puzzle. Each character has a power that activates after a certain number of candies of a specific color are collected, such as converting a candy on the board to a wrapped candy)

The game is very polished and accessible, while pointing to its sophisticated psychological string-tugging to get people hooked, and paying. This game is so addictive that Mums and dads, aunts and uncles. Grandparents, even. housewives and househusbands, Commuters from office juniors through to CEO’s are into this.
The game is for short-session thus making itself so popular among all the age group. SAGA is a divisive game and will be continuing itself with the same tag.
