Recently few PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds or PUBG player were able to unlock the release of the games’ latest cinematic. The video featured one of the PUBG maps which was Miramar. The video was unlocked after players completed a challenge. This was to collect enough disc fragments as a community.
The video featured a backstory on the Miramar battleground, connecting it to different parts of the PUBG universe.
In the video we are introduced to two people. One is the person who controls the fictional area of Miramar located in Mexico. The other man uses the area for races that is with the permission of the boss. However, he now seems to be in some sort of trouble for consulting a third part about using Miramar for a game.
The third party is an unnamed, Russian man. The two bicker about this Russian man, with the boss ending by saying that this man will not get access to Miramar. The man mentions that this third party wants a “battleground on Miramar”. This a huge clue to what they’re talking about. If you’ve been following the PUBG lore you will know that this cinematic is a sequel to the video from 2019 on Erangel.
At the end of the video a dramatic explosion follows the reveal that the third party aka the Russian man is the survivor from Erangel. He is the man who set off the battle royale fights in different locations. This man was first introduced in the first big lore video of PUBG. This talks about how a young boy survived a brutal attack. Later grew up to extremely wealthy and put together these games. The characters face isn’t shown in the first video or the new ones.
Since Miramar was the second map introduced to PUBG it was natural the second cinematic lore would be of this match. If this is the order of lores releasing then expect PUBG to release probably Sanhok and other locales soon
