How to host a successful PUBG competition

The recently concluded Pung Mobile All Stars: India was a hit. We saw Fnatic lifting the trophy with Mayhem Gaming just missing out on the prize. We also saw “Mortal” debut as a caster and showcase his commenting skills. All in all we can say that the competition was a well organized one and had positive consensus overall.

The success of the competition makes us think on how can one host a successful PUBG mobile competition . Don’t worry we have got you covered for that as well. Here is our guide on how to successfully host a PUBG competition:-

1. Format of PUBG Competition:

List out the format in which you want to conduct the tournament. If your target audience is more of a professional one you can have both TPP and FPP styles included. But, if you are expecting a more general audience to participate it is better to not include the FPP mode. Decide if want the competition to have a single map, for e.g, Erangel or want to include all the maps in the pool.

2. Days and Dates:

Decide on how long do you want your competition to run. Also, finalize the number of maps you want the teams to play. If you want the competition to run say 2 or 3 days then make sure to manage the workload of players. For e.g. If you plan to conduct 16 matches for your competition, make sure that the tournament runs for 3 days at least. It will not be viable for you as well as the players to complete the tournament in 2 days itself. Now for the dates, make sure you are conducting the competition during the weekends because of two reasons. First, Esports is still not a popular career in India and many candidates juggle it in their already congested life.Secondly, weekends can help you gather a larger audience for your competition which is beneficial for both the players and the organizers.

3. Mobile Devices:

As an organizer you have to make sure that there is fair competition among the players. The best way to make sure of it is to provide each player with the same mobile devices. If there is a difference in the devices, people with better mobiles have an unfair advantage before the game starts off.

4. Sponsors:

Make sure you have appropriate sponsors who can take care of some costs during the competition. Logically, one should target electronic stores or shops who can provide you with the devices and headsets required for the competition.

5. Teams

If you are targeting a competition on a grand scale invite professional teams to your competition. Even if you aren’t targeting a large scale event do invite the professional teams out there. Who knows they maybe free at that point of time and like the way you are marketing the competition. The presence of a professional teams will not only increase the popularity but also interest more amaetur teams to participate.

6. Live Stream/ Highlights

Make sure if you have the right equipment for live streaming or posting highlights from the competition. Live streaming is a more viable option but the costs are high, hence the least one can do is to post highlights.

7. Accommodation

This specifically applies if you are targeting a professional competition. Professional players need accommodation and will not shell out anything from their pocket. Hence this a must.

8. Prize money and trophy

The ultimate incentive to host the competition is that you provide the winners with some prize money and a trophy. A hefty sum can garner much popularity but hey it’s not an easy task!

9. Publicity and marketing

One of the most essential parts in hosting a successful competition is way you market your competition . If you have any professional teams coming try to revolve the competition around that team by showcasing the popularity of the team. If that is not the case, try to get some social media influencer to promote your tournament.

10. Punctuality and management during the PUBG Competition

The most important thing on how your competition holds up is the way you manage the matches. Starting the matches as per scheduled is the way to go forward and managing the breaks in between two matches is also important. During breaks have some fun activities or interviews of players to keep the audience engaged.

And there ends the guide on how to successfully host a PUBG competition . Hope you have a great time in hosting!
