In 2003, Call of Duty (COD) video game released by Activision. It was a first-person shooter game which was focused on World War II. The video game got so much popularity and attention in since the day of its release and it is also in demand till now. It saw a million of downloads from all over the world.
It has reached to new heights in April 2021 when it has sold 400 million copies for pc’s, Xbox, and play station. It has also included in Guinness World Records in best selling for first shooter game. It has millions of downloads for its mobile version too from play store and Appstore.

COD has updated its version time to time, below are the list of its some of the famous versions and timeline of the classic game.

COD – 2003

Infinity ward developed first person shooter COD video game which was based on id Tech3. Activision published this game on October 29. Initially game introduced red army, British and American paratroopers.

COD 2 – 2005

The game was based on World War 2 with an experience through a perspective of the soldiers. It released on variant platform in 2005 such as Windows, Mac OS X and smart phones, Xbox 360 and Pocket PCs.

COD 3 – 2006

COD 3 released with update of British, American, Polish, Canadian armies and French Resistance.

COD- 2013 (Ghosts)

It was tenth main upgrade in COD series, and was compatible with eighth-gen consoles such as Xbox One and PS 4.

It released in 2017, was fourteen upgrades in WWII series. Sledgehammer Games developed it. It released worldwide on various platform such as Xbox One, Microsoft Windows and PlayStation 4 . The game has major update on maps and few new additions such as western battles and infantry division.

COD-2020 (Black Ops Cold War)

It was seventeenth instalment in COD series. Software It and Treyarch developed it and Activision published it. The game was focused on American and Soviet espionage throughout the Cold War, the game was set between COD: Black Ops and COD: Black Ops II.

COD – 2021 Vanguard

It was eighteenth game in COD series, it has a zombie’s mode and was developed for Xbox One, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox X/S.
