The apple’s fallen far from the tree this time

‘Prologue’ the latest game from the stables of Brendan Greene, was declared during the 2019 game awards. Brendan ‘PlayerUnknown’.

Greene is most popular for the popular third-person battle-royale video game, Players Unknown Battleground. He eventually left the game behind to form PlayerUnknown Productions under the broader PUBG corp. apparently , this is what they were working on.

Prologue- Distinctively Different

PUBG

While there was little information on the new game, one thing is for sure- it won’t be a third-person shooter or a sequel to PUBG. In an interview with Forbes, Greene made that much clear. “This is the first step in the journey for me,” he said. “We set up the studio, and founded it with the goal of experimenting with new technology. Now we’re taking that first step towards building new technologies, and Prologue is the first step into the new world for us. I wanted the chance to deliver something new on a global scale.”

Greene plans to build, in his own words, a world that is  “hundreds of kilometres by hundreds of kilometres, without thousands of people”.

From what was shown in the 30-second teaser, the game has beautiful and photorealistic graphics. Unlike any other game from Greene. While it remains to be seen how well the graphics will hold up in the final version. It is definitely a change in the right direction.

Another area in which the game will be different will be scale. While PUBG is known for its massive maps and areas, Prologue aims to go even further beyond. Brendan wants to create a world thousands of kilometers long, with tons of players. Such a unique dream will have unique problems, but Bredan is confident his team will find the answers.
