The creators of the most popular Battle Royale game Player Unkown’s BattleGrounds (PUBG) will roll out its new 0.16.0 update today i.e 11th December,2019. The update named as Winter Festival will bring out additional features,skins and outfits being added to the game.
Making the announcement through their Twitter handle PUBG Mobile confirmed that the servers would not be taken down or be offline. Additionally, the update will further take up 0.6 GB (600 MB) of storage space.
The main feature of this update is reportedly the death race mode! ‘Rage Gear’ which has been doing the rounds in recent weeks. The mode will allow players competing in armoured vehicles along with challenging graphics, according to a report by the Hindustan Times.
The new mode as mentioned above will have players in a armoured car with the main objective to kill other players via weapons and the car itself. After successfully managing a kill cartes can also be collected.
Another feature of the update includes changing of mode from TPP to FPP via the settings menu. The settings icon located on the bottom right of the screen will ease the changing of modes.
Also, parts of the Erangel map will now be covered with snow; owing to the Winter Update of the game. Previously, Vikendi was the only map which had snow covered areas in the Battle Royale game.
The previous update 0.15.5 added a new map ‘The Ruins’ and MPK5, a new submachine gun.
A new character ‘Sara’ was also added to the game.
The new update will not come into play during the PUBG Mobile All Stars Competition India Mastery Scrims (PMAS India). It is currently being played out.
Seven Seas are currently leading the competition with 86 points (29 kills) after the end of the second days play. Right behind them are Zero Degree and Nepali Ho Ni with 68 and 62 points respectively. The scrims will end on 15th December with the grand finals set to be held on 21st and 22nd December.
