MODERN COMBAT 5

Today in this article we will know about the Modern Combat 5 Windows version in detail.

Modern Combat History –

Modern combat is a very popular FPS shooting game series from Gameloft. All modern combat games feature full action, great graphics and visuals and really good sound effects. The missions in the game are really challenging and enjoyable which makes the game.

HISTORY

First Modern Combat game was released on August 27, 2009 with the name Modern Combat: sandstorm. Modern combat 5 was launched on 24 July 2014 for all major gaming platforms viz android, iOS and Windows. Later the game was released for Nintendo Switch on 14 February 2019. Modern Combat 5 game features 2 modes – single player and multiplayer. The last game launched in Modern Combat series is Modern Combat: Versus which was launched in 2017 for Windows, Android and iOS and Steam.

Modern Combat 5 Gameplay –

Game play in Modern Combat 5: Blackout is similar to previous entries in the series. The player can shoot, crouch, sprint, throw grenades, aim, reload their weapons, leap over obstacles, knife enemies, change/pick up weapons, and use abilities supported by the equipped class. A new key feature to Modern Combat 5 is the ability to choose soldier classes ranging from Assault, Heavy, Sniper, Recon, Support, Bounty Hunter, Sapper, X-1 Morph, Kommander, and Marauder. Each of which has its own different perks and weapons), although a player’s class does not prevent the player from picking up different classes’ weapons in-game.

As the player continues in certain classes and acquires a “weapon score”, new guns and attachments to use in both the campaign and multiplayer are unlocked. Modern Combat 5 is the first Modern Combat game in the series to use DRM and requires a constant internet connection to play (an internet connection is required for the campaign as well as multiplayer).

GAMEPLAY 2

One major change in the campaign of Blackout, compared to previous Modern Combat titles, is that the missions are shorter. A mission can last five to ten minutes, noticeably shorter than missions of previous entries. Modern Combat 5: Blackout also introduces allies, characters who follow along with the player, often joining in during conflicts.

Like Zero Hour, the campaign missions in Modern Combat 5: Blackout vary in style. The game is primarily a first person shooter, but missions include controlling turrets on boats, helicopters, and even drones.

Multiplayer –

MULTIPLAYER

The multiplayer of Modern Combat 5 is similar to other first-person shooters. The weapons carry over from the player’s campaigns. Players can also form “squads”, a feature new to the Modern Combat series. Another new feature is Private Chat, which allows chat between squad members

 Plot Modern Combat 5 –

The World Liberation Army, a terrorist organization, had attacked Venice to steal chemical weapons held by the United Nations. Cayden Phoenix (a minor character in Modern Combat 4), a freelance military contractor working for Gilman Security, is sent to Venice as part of a security task force to counter the terrorists. His companion, Jonathan “Bull” Taylor, is dismissed for suspicions of illegal arms sales.

PLOT

After the counter-insurgency, Phoenix travels to a battle-destroyed Tokyo for a Gilman Security cybersecurity summit, where he concludes with his supervisor, Sophie “Roux” Daviau, that the attack on Venice was supported by Gillam Security. Phoenix also reveals the company’s blackmail tactics, forcing him to not investigate further as to risk damage to his daughter. However, Phoenix is intercepted by an explosion, and he awakes in the Rinnōji Temple. Phoenix escapes from the raider-controlled temple with assistance from a nurse, and meets with Isaac Tukura and a man named Andrews. They travel back to Tokyo to a safe house.

PLOT 2

Their travel is intercepted by raiders and Gilman Security drones. As they arrive at their safe house, attacks continue before Roux and others disperse drone forces. Now safe, Roux and Phoenix continue their conversation, where Roux reveals that Bull will make a deal with terrorist Everett Saunders. It is also revealed that Gilman controlled the World Liberation Army, and that they planned to start a world war via cyber security attacks and chemical warfare.

Phoenix kills Bull before he can work further with terrorists, and upon returning, he plans to infiltrate Gilman headquarters to retrieve information that would prove Gilman’s involvement with terrorist organizations. They hack Gilman and retrieve information, only to be intercepted by Saunders. In a final confrontation, Phoenix kills Saunders, and later, the information Roux gathered is given to the UN. Gilman executives are arrested, and warfare in Tokyo ends.

Modes of Modern Combat –

Free-For-All –

FREE FOR ALL

Free for All is a “battle royale” in which every player is pitted against each other without any teams. The objective is for each player to kill as many enemy players as possible within a 7 minutes time limit. The player with the most kills at the end of the time limit – or the first player to earn a total of 30 kills – wins the match.

If 2 or more players have the top kill score at the end of the time limit, the match enters Overtime and continues for 60 seconds; Overtime will continue to repeat until 1 player has achieved the highest kill score, or has achieved 30 kills.

Team Battle –

TEAM BATTLE

Team Battle is a multiplayer game mode that has appeared in Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus, Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation and Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour. Along with Battle, Team Battle is one of the most popular online game modes.

Players are divided into 2 teams, each with the objective of killing as many players on the opposing team as possible within a time limit. The first team to reach the kill limit, or with the most kills at the end of the time limit is victorious.

Capture the Flag (CTF) –

CTF is a team-based multiplayer game mode featured in every Modern Combat game since

Players are divided into 2 teams, with the objective being to capture the opposing team’s flag and return it to your base. The first team which meets the flag capture limit, or which captures the most flags within the time limit wins the match. The location of the enemy’s flag will be always visible on the mini-map.

CAPTURE THE FLAG

Players can pick up an enemy flag by touching it. After picking up the enemy flag, a player must bring it back to their own team’s flag stand in order to score 1 point – however they can only bring back to their stand provided that their own flag is still there (meaning that if an enemy player is holding their team’s flag flag, it must be recovered first).

Flags stolen by enemy players can be recovered by dispatching the enemy player and touching the flag after it has been dropped – at which point it will instantly appear back at the base of the player’s team. If a player is carrying an opponent’s flag, their location will be marked on-screen for all enemy players.

Zone control –

ZONE CONTROL

There are two teams. There are a total of 12 players, 6 players on each team. The main objective that you and your team must accomplish is to capture 3 flags, Flag Alpha, Flag Bravo, and Flag Charlie. As long as a flag is under control, the team gets points.

The more players in the capture zone, the faster the capturing. This is especially a strong effect in Blackout, since every player seems to double the capturing process.

VIP –

VIP

VIP is a team-based mode similar to Team Battle, but with a twist. At the start of a match, one player on each team will be randomly chosen to be the VIP; each time the VIP is killed, another player on their team will be designated the new VIP at random.

The goal for each team is to kill as many enemy VIPs as possible within the time limit, with only killed VIPS counting towards the team’s score. (Each team’s VIP also adds to their team’s score by a smaller amount for every enemy he kills). VIP players are always visible on the mini-map to opponents as a star-shaped icon, and are distinguished on-screen by a large duffel bag carried on their back.

The first team to meet the score limit, or with the highest score at the end of the time limit wins the match.

Rush –

Rush is a team-based “deathmatch” game mode with no player respawns in which players must either eliminate the opposing team, or capture and hold a Data Relay in order to win each round. The first team to win 3 out of 5 rounds wins the match. Military Support is also unavailable in Rush mode. Players also may not join Rush matches after the first round has ended (though they may join as spectators).

RUSH

At the start of a round, players will have 15 seconds in which they can purchase Power-Ups using a special currency called Intel which can be accumulated during each round of a match (more details on Intel are available below; players can also open the Power Up menu in the middle of a match to purchase Power-Ups).

RUSH 2

A team wins a round by capturing and holding the Data Relay until the end of a time limit of 120 seconds, or by eliminating all players of the opposing team (if there are no opponents within the capture range of the Data Relay then the team will win the round as soon as it is captured). The first team to win 3 out of 5 possible rounds wins the match.

Cargo –

CARGO

Cargo is a team-based game mode with matches divided into 2 rounds, in which each team takes turns playing Offense and Defense.

The object of Cargo is for the Offensive team to attempt to move a Cargo crate to its Destination along a fixed path before the time expires, while the Defensive team attempts to prevent the Cargo from being delivered. The Match is divided into 2 Rounds, with Red and Blue teams each taking a turn playing Offense and Defense.

Squad Battle –

Squad mode allows 2 Squads to compete against each other in a game of Team Battle or Capture the Flag on a randomly-selected map. Squads are matched against each other via an automatic matchmaking system.

SQUAD BATTLE

Each Squad must have a minimum of 3 players to start a match, with a maximum of 6 players on each team.

Squad members’ performance in Squad Battles is ranked in a Squad’s League separately from Soldier’s League. As in Soldier’s League, players receive a positive or negative ranking score at the end of each match based on performance, and are ranked into Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond Leagues.
