Fortnite, one of the most popular games worldwide continued its popularity by being the most favourite video game of the US in 2019
According to Satellite Internet, which amassed gaming statistics throughout the year found that Fortnite was the most popular in 20 states. Fans who play the game know exactly why the game reigned supreme. with its popularity on the rise after Chapter 2 was released recently.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare took the second spot even though the game was released in late October.
It was the most sought after game in 8 states according to search engine results. The West Coast of the country remained loyal to Dota 2. Washington and California were the 2 states which played Dota 2 the most.
Multiplayer games though were most popular throughout the country, signalling a change in a trend. Single player games like Need for Speed and Grand Theft Auto are slowly declining in their popularity. They are making way mostly for Battle Royale Games.
Games like World of Warcraft and League of Legends were most popular in Alaska and Hawaii, and can be considered as outliers.
Counter Strike: Global Offensive, Rocket League, GTA 5 , Monster Hunt World and Red Dead Redemption 2 also made the cut. But their popularity was limited to just one to three states.
