Dota 2 patch: Everything about Equalizing Update

The latest update to the game brings some much needed change.

After the massive update that was 7.23, Valve has released another patch, 7.23b . The patch Dota 2 Equalizing Update aims to buff or Nerf certain areas of the game as necessary.

Minor Changes

While the changes made are in no way as massive as the changes made in the previous patch, they are still significant. Enough to change the way the game is played, anyways.

Most of the changes are to the neutral item system. Which gives neutral camps the chance to drop items available through this system. The most popular criticism of this system is that it adds too much RNG to the game.

Valve has tried to rectify this by ensuring the neutral items now drop 7 minutes into the game, instead of 5. This should keep tier one items worthwhile, while also removing the early power spikes caused by one item.

Talking about the items, they’ve seen some significant changes. But the most noteworthy of them are that the following. Imp Claw’s Bonus damage has been increased but the critical hit decreased. The Titan Silver has been nerfed pretty heavily. Vampire Fangs has become more of a right click item and not an all rounder.

The Mind Breaker item has also been changed. It now passively provides +25 attack speed and +25 Magic damage on attacks. And once every 20 seconds can silence whoever it hit.

Heroes have also seen some major changes. Treant Protector went through some significant changes as well. His Leech Seed and Nature’s Grasp cooldowns has been reduced at higher levels. Overgrowth damage increased to a flat 100 at any and all levels.

Lifestealer and specifically his Infest ability, Drow Ranger’s agility gain and Marksmanship multiplier have been increased and there’s even a slight Techies nerf to please almost everyone.

Further Changes after Dota 2 Equalizing Update

While all the above may seem a bit overwhelming to fans new to the game/e-sport, they would be wise to prepare for more. If history has taught us anything, it’s that major updates are almost always followed by smaller patches.
