Dendi, the boss, the legend has left NAVI

Navi has let go the Dendi boss aka Danil Ishutin. Dendi is now a free agent.

Yes! we now live in a time where Dendi’s name will no longer resound with Navi. It will be hard for fans all over the world to do that. Dendi has been part of Navi since Dota 2 started. He was there with Navi from 2010 to 2018.  He is the first superstar born out of Dota 2 scene. Taking care of mid for Navi he was one of the youngest and the earliest in Dota 2 scene to be so impactful.

People who have been following Esports saw Dendi as the face of Esports. Not just in Dota 2 but all the gaming community knew of him.

Dendi achieved a lot with NAVI, winning first Dota 2 TI, first competition in history of Esports with 1 Million Dollar prize pool.

He then went on to come second in both TI 2 & TI 3 losing to Invictus Gaming and Alliance respectively.

Dendi’s fountain hook with Puppey against Tongfu in TI1 will always be his most iconic play as well as most controversial one. It was amazing but a bug none the less. But finding something hidden in the game which nobody ever thought of during the game will always be historical and very unique. It won them the game, the series and the prestige of calling themselves the first ever TI champions. Another memorable event more on the dark side for Navi fans that comes to mind is Dendi’s TP getting cancelled by s4 which ultimately led Alliance Rat strategy take over the game and win them the TI 3. It is still regarded as one of the best TI finals ever. Dendi couldn’t stop the inevitable win of Alliance & his TP cancelled saw many Navi fans hopes and dreams get shattered. The iconic s4 play came to know as a million-dollar dream coil.

Dendi’s rubik Ravage steal against Invictus Gaming will be remembered by every Dota 2 fan forever.  It was not just Dendi but whole Navi turn around that shook everyone watching the game live or later; even thinking about it gives me goosebumps.

Its called “the play”. And its one of the best moment in Dota 2 history. Invictus gaming sleeps whole Navi team and catches them by surprise with IG.zhou Naga plays.  IG.faith is on tide hunter and sets himself up against all Navi players in bot lane. Ferrari_430 uses vaccum to bring all Navi players together but what they don’t see is that Enigma has BKB, and juggernaut has spin which saves them from Magic damage and stuns. At the time the sleep ends, Juggernaut spins and Enigma played by LightoftheheaveN, Bkb’s. In midst of all, Dendi on rubick force staffs himself out of the stun area.

IG.faith uses ravage but only 2 Navi heroes are stunned. Enigma uses black hole and 4 IG heroes are caught. Rubik steals and execute ravage in midst of all this. IG first loses 4 heroes and then loses 5.

It was an amazing game, and an ultimate moment in Dota 2 TI history.

Nevertheless, Dendi and Navi has so many more stories to tell that I cannot cover them all in here.

We will cover all those stories some other time. Right now we want to wish Dendi boss best of luck for his new career.
