Day 3 of DreamHack masters Spring 2020 saw Group A of the European region conclude with Astralis taking the top spot. Here is our recap on yesterday’s matches:-

1. Europe- Group A

The first match up was between North and Heroic, with North requiring a win to have a chance to qualify for the next stage. Heroic were playing party spoilers as they were already out of contention.

Heroic did what North did not want them to do. They spoiled North’s party and beat them 2-0 in a one sided affair. heroic won 16-9 on Train and 16-4 on Vertigo to pick their only win at the group stages.

The last match of the group was a rematch of ESL One: Road to Rio finals where G2 were looking for revenge aganist a “gla1ve” less Astralis. They managed to avenge their loss as they beat them 2-0 to secure their qualification for the next stage. G2 won 16-13 on Dust II and 16-7 on Nuke. G2 now look strong to again make a log run in the competition.

2. North America- Group A

Team Liquid faced off against a rampaging Furia side to get back on winning ways. But, they faltered once again as Furia once again managed to beat them, this time in a more labored way. Liquid won Furia’s pick of vertigo 16-9 to start strongly. Liquid even lead 8-2 on their pick of Nuke but Furia bounced rallied through to win 16-14 to take the series to Mirage.

Furia edged out Mirage winning in double overtime 22-20 to book their passage to the next stage. “hen1” looked sensational all series long and ended with a total of 82 kills to his name. As for Liquid, they need to beat MiBR in their next match to have a chance of progressing or to end their competition prematurely.

Note:- DreamHack Masters Spring 2020 was originally to take place in Jonkoping, Sweden but was shifted online due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The compeition will now have four regional events all taking place in between from 19th May to 14th June. 32 teams have been divided on their regional baese; Asia, Oceania, Europe & North America. DreamHack on its part have increased the prize pool from $250,000 to $300,000. To know the complete schedule, click here
