Day 7 of DreamHack Masters Spring 2020 saw the start of Group C of EU region and Group B of NA region. It was also the debut of 16 year old “bymas” for Faze Clan who came in as a replacement for “olofmeister”. The Swedish player has taken a break from the game citing burnout as the reason.

Here is the recap of how Faze fared in their first game without the Swede and also the review of other games played on Day 7 of Dreamhack Masters Spring 2020

1. Europe Group C

Group C Teams:- Fnatic, Faze Clan, Team Spirit, GODSENT

Looking at the teams Fnatic and Faze Clan were the obvious candidates to take the top spot in the group. Team Spirit though were there to prove the critics wrong as they beat Fnatic 2-0 in their first game of the competition.

Fnatic alike mousesports are experiencing a dip in form after winning the EPL Season 11. Team Spirit on the other hand came into the competition winninh the ESL One Road to Rio CIS region. Defeating Fnatic proved that Spirits’s victory was no fluke with more upsets always on the cards.

Spirit destroyed Fnatic on Nuke winning 16-3 and converted Inferno winning closely 16-15. “Mir” was the top performer with 44 kills across both the maps.

A new Faze side faced GODSENT in their opening match with the international squad winning 2-1. Faze won 16-12 on Nuke but lost on Inferno 16-14 taking the series to DUST II, the decider. A strong T side saw them take a 10-5 lead after the first half which they managed to covert and win 16-7. “coldzera” was the leader in terms of kills, managing a total of 71 in the 3 maps played. The new comer “bymas” had some highlights of his own and looked potentially a good fit into the squad.

2. NA Group B

Group B teams:- Evil Geniuses, Cloud9, 100 Theives, Gen.G

Cloud9 took on EG in the first match of the group with EG starting off as strong favorites. It was however Cloud9 who came out victorious winning 2-1 and taking home the 3 points. EG continued their poor run of form and starting a tournament yet again slowly. Cloud9 won Dust II 16-13, EG took Nuke 16-13 and Train was left as the decider. A blistering T side saw Cloud9 take a monumental 12-3 lead after the first half to almost secure them the victory. EG tried hard on their T side but the lead was too big to make a comeback. They lost 12-16. “floppy” ended the series with 69 kills to become the top performer and end Day 7 of Dreamhack Masters Spring 2020.
