The European region resumed on Day 20 of Dreamhack Masters Spring 2020 with 3 lower bracket matches taking place. European teams returned back to action after the conclusion of the Asian and Ocenia region. Fnatic faced off against compLexity, MAD Lions were up against Team Spirit and Vitality faced Heroic.

Here is how things played out on Day 20 of Dreamhack Masters Spring 2020.

1. Fnatic vs compLexity

Both these teams were in a poor run of form in recent weeks but Fnatic still had an edge considering the firepower they had in their arsenal. It was experience which powered Fnatic through as they won 2-1. They started off with a victory on Train winning 16-11 but compLexity replied with an overtime victory on Nuke winning 19-17.

Mirage was the final map where the Swedes rolled through the opponents. They shut down coL multiple times on the defensive side which lead them to a easy 16-6 map and series victory. “KRiMZ” ended the series with 68 kills making him the top performer.

2. MAD Lions vs Team Spirit

Spirit came into the match as favorites after showing some impressive performances in the group stage. They however lost out to MAD Lions who recharged their batteries during the break and put in a solid performance to triumph 2-0. They defeated the CIS team 16-12 both on Mirage and Nuke to progress in the next round. MAD Lions individuals showed up when needed the most to hand them a deserving victory.

It was “sdy” though who was the top performer as he ended the series with a server high 48 kills.

MAD Lions now face Fnatic to have a chance of progressing to the lower bracket final.

3. Team Vitality vs Heroic

Vitality were the heavy favorites considering the team was experiencing an upturn in fortunes. Heroic though were there to prove a point as they picked up Mirage winning 16-10 to put Vitality on the back foot. Vitality by then had warmed up as they dispatched Heroic in the next two maps conquering them 16-9 on Dust II and 16-6 on Vertigo.

“zywoo” as always was instrumental in the comeback as he ended as the top performer of the series with 64 kills and end Day 20 of Dreamhack Masters Spring 2020.

Vitality will now face the winner of Astralis and NiP in the next match.

Note:- DreamHack Masters Spring 2020 was originally to take place in Jonkoping, Sweden but was shifted online due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The compeition will now have four regional events all taking place in between from 19th May to 14th June. 32 teams have been divided on their regional baese; Asia, Oceania, Europe & North America.
