APEX LEGENDS – #1 BEST SUPER POWER FPS GAME

Apex legends, a game which came out of nowhere. No trailer, no marketing, no announcement but still became hit just after   launch. The game was a surprise launch by Electronic Arts. Apex legends is a free battle royale FPS game created by Respawn Entertainment. It was launched by Electronic Arts in February 2019 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows. It received 9 rating out of 10 from softonic. 

Apex Legends received a lot of positive reviews from players. They praised its game play, Variety of characters available, graphics and progression system.  Many players compared Apex Legends with Fornite a very popular battle royal game.

The size of the game is nearly 20GB for Xbox PS4 and windows. Apex legends is totally free to download. So let’s  know about this highly praised game in detail. 

GAME HISTORY

All gamers were expecting from Respawn Entertainment to release the third instalment of the much awaited Titanfall. But Respawn entertainment launched Apex legends as a surprise. The game gathered popularity in its initial days, as it crossed over 25 million players by the end of the launch week and 50 million players by the end of the first month. Five seasons have been launched in the game by now.  

GAMEPLAY

Apex Legend is a First Person Shooter game. Game play is quite similar to most battle royale games. One has to survive other players by taking gun fights inside the play zone. In Apex Legends a player can choose to play either solo, duo or can make a squad of 3 players. Players can play with their friends or they can be matched randomly with other players. Almost every classic match has 20 teams of 3 players each .

Depending on where you land on the island will determine whether you’re safe to wander, or that you’ll need to move quickly in order to reach the Safe zone in a timely manner. Safe zone is a circular area in which players have to stay in. If the player is outside the safe zone, they start receiving zone damage. If players remain outside the safe zone for a long time it may result in fatality.

Players can land anywhere in the map according to their wish. If a player wants to land away from his team he can do that too. After players land at their desired spot they have to pick up loot to survive from other players. Loots are scattered around the buildings, or in crates randomly distributed around the map. 

Apex Legends also have non-verbal communication in which the game lets players mark enemies, weapons and directions. The other movements are very similar to other battle royale games, such as  the ability to climb short walls, slide and use of zip lines to travel across the map quickly.  Apex Legends also lets players revive their teammates if their teammates get knocked down by enemies. If a player is completely killed by enemies, his teammates can recall him by picking up his revival card and taking it to the several beacons available on the island.  Revival cards can be found where the player is killed by the enemy.

Over the time, safezone shrink around randomly selected locations. This also confines the squad to take fights with other squads. The team who manage to stand alive till end, irrespective of the numbers of players alive is crowned as ‘APEX CHAMPIONS’ of the match.

CHARACTERS –

Apex legends have 13 characters as of now. Many of the character designs are based on the Titanfall. The list of all the characters with their abilities  in the game are under – 

BANGALORE –

Bangalore’s abilities are smoke launcher

and rolling thunder.

BLOODHOUND –

Bloodhound’s abilities are tracker,beast of the

hunt and eye of Allfather.

CAUSTIC – 

Abilities of caustic are Nox gas trap, Nox

vision and Noax gas grenade. Caustic is the most popular character in the game.

CRYPTO –

Abilities of Crypto are Neurolink while using 

drone, ability to take fight with a drone.

GIBRALTAR –

Abilities of Gibraltar are gun shield protection,  making defensive thunder like Bangalore.

LIFELINE –

Abilities of Lifeline  are quick reviving of 

teammate, and carepackage best used

between fights or at the end of the game.  

MIRAGE- 

Mirage can automatically deploy a decoy while 

cloaking himself for five seconds. This ability makes mirage special. 

OCTANE – 

Octane can gradually recover his health over time.

After injecting himself with stimulants he can move very fast.

PATHFINDER –

Pathfinder grappling hook let players cover 

large distances fast on ziplines.

REVENANT –

Revenant can move faster while crouching

and can climb higher too as compared to others.

WATSON – 

Watson is a defensive character. Watson tactical allows players to throw down connecting nodes

to create electrified fences.

WRAITH –

If the enemy team is about to get dropped on Wraith team, she will let the team know beforehand. Wraith tactical ability lets wraith to traverse the void without taking damage.

 LOBA- 

Loba is the new Apex Legend character for season 5.

She can see nearby epic loot through walls. Loba also places a portable device that lets players teleport nearby loot in their inventory.

MAPS AVAILABLE IN THE GAME

Apex Legends currently have two maps available for the players: 

Kings Canyon –

Kings canyon map was introduced at launch. It features  an abundance of areas varying from military facilities to slums, with a river dividing it down from the middle.  

World’s Edge – 

This map was introduced in season 3. World’s edge is located on the planet of tablos. This map features ziplines, Balloons and trains, which makes it special.

HOT DROP LOCATION AMONG BOTH MAPS

REPULSOR AND HYDRO DAM – 

This location is frequently visited by players. One can easily get good equipment to face enemies. Repulsor is the location where one can find high tier loots very easily. In Repulsor players will find various underground barracks with gear.

CAPITAL CITY – 

capital city is another high tier loot spot in the game where players can opt to land at. It is a big area where few teams land. Players will be able to find good equipment and fight here.

BUNKER – 

 The Bunker also offers good loot for the team. But It is a very popular location in the game where many players land at a time. Players can also find good loot in the containers near the bunker.

THE PIT –

The Pit isn’t a popular spot for rush players, but this location can provide good quality armor and weapons. Players will also find few chest gears as well. Loot is also scattered on the floor.

THE AIRBASE – 

The AIRBASE is located at the very end of the map. This spot is not very popular among players but players can find good loot here as well. Players who don’t want to take early game fights can choose this spot to land.

WEAPONS AVAILABLE IN THE GAME 

Game has managed to add enough weapons keeping the need of different players in mind. Picking up the right weapon can massively change the outcome for the player. There are currently 23 weapons available in the game divided in the category of AR, SMG, Shotgun, sniper rifle, light machine guns and pistols.

ASSAULT RIFLE –

VK-47 FLATLINE, G7 SCOUT, HEMLOK BURST, R-301 CARBINE and HAVOC RIFLE.

SUB MACHINE GUNS –

R-99, PROWLER BURST PDW and ALTERNATOR SMG.

LIGHT MACHINE GUN – 

DEVOTION LMG, M600 SPITFIRE and  L-STAR EMG

SNIPER RIFLE – 

LONGBOW DMR, KARBER, TRIPLE TAKE, SENTINEL and CHARGE RIFLE

SHOTGUNS – 

EVA-8 AUTO, MASTIFF SHOTGUN, PEACEKEEPER and MOZAMBIQUE

PISTOLS – 

RE-45, P2020 and WINGMAN.

VEHICLES AVAILABLE IN GAME – 

Currently there is only one vehicle available in the game and that is a spaceship that hovers above the map, but one can only obtain loot from it and can’t actually use it to travel across the map.

AMMO TYPES–

  Currently there are 5 types of ammo available in the game. All ammos are listed under supported guns.

LIGHT ROUND AMMO – 

They are used by AR, SMG and pistols. They are found in the stack of 20 or 40. Weapons that use light rounds are – 

G7 SCOUT, R301 COMBINE, ALTERNATOR SMG, R 99, P2020, RE-45 AUTO.

HEAVY ROUNDS – 

Weapons that use heavy rounds tend to do more damage than counterparts. There are 5 weapons that use heavy round – 

VK-47, HEMLOCK BURST, PROWLER BURST, M600 SPITFIRE and wingman.

ENERGY AMMO – 

Energy ammo is used by energy weapons. They are found in the stack of either 30 or 60. These ammos are used by 2 weapons – 

HAVOC RIFLE and L-STAR SMG.

SHOTGUN SHELLS – 

These ammos are used by shotgun and can be found in the stack of 8 or 16. There are 3 weapons those use shotgun shells – 

EVA-8 AUTO, MASTIFF SHOTGUN and MOZAMBIQUE.

SNIPER AMMO – 

Sniper ammo are used by sniper guns. They are found in the stack of 8 or 16. There are 4 weapons that use sniper ammo – 

LONGBOW DMR, TRIPLE TAKE, CHARGE RIFLE and SENTINEL. 

SPECIAL AMMO – 

These ammos are used by care package weapons. They are unique to weapons and do not take inventory space. DEVOTION LMG, KRABER and PEACEKEEPER guns use special ammo.

GAME MODES AVAILABLE –

TRAINING – 

Playing as a lifeline, players learn the basics of how to play from Bloodhound and Pathfinder.

FIRING RANGE – 

A small area where you and 1-2 squad mates can try out every weapon and item and practice your aim on multiple targets. Players can also use this mode for improving their skills and for warmup as well.

TRIOS-

The basic game mode. Twenty squads of three players in each squad are in the arena for the last squad standing. Map rotation in between Kings Canyon and World’s Edge.

RANKED LEAGUES – 

Similar to play Apex but with the edition of skill-based ranking for more evenly matched games. This gamemode has unique rewards on the basis of player’s skills that are awarded at the end of each match. Current map is Kings Canyon.

QUEST – 

There are nine hunts in this season, each hunt when completed unlocks a new piece of the relic and a new chapter in the ongoing story. Your squad will be dropped off, make your way to a target location, fight enemies and recover a relic. Players have the option to play in squad ,duo or solo .

COSMETICS AND SKIN AVAILABLE IN APEX LEGENDS –

There are three types of currency that one can use to unlock cosmetics and characters – 

Apex coins –

Apex coins are premium currency in apex legends. These can be used to unlock cosmetics items in rotating shops, mew legends and apex packs.

Crafting metal –

Crating metals are dropped in apex packs and can be used to craft specific cosmetic items such as legend’s skins, weapon skins and more.

Legend token – 

These can be earned by increasing player level. Tokens can also be earned even after reaching max player. These can also be used in rotating shops to unlock exclusive skins of legendary weapons and legends skins or to unlock new legends.
