What has come as a very surprising news, CD Projekt, the Polish Game Company has overtaken the French Ubisoft to become the most valued game company in the continent of Europe. CD Projekt was founded by Marcin Iwiński and Michał Kiciński in May of 1994. The company CD Projekt has been valued at $8.13 billion after just having only 3 titles under its names (not including the Witcher spin offs).
Although these are just tiny numbers if they were to be pitted against the giants by the likes of Activision or Nintendo, all this tells us these companies have a long way to go. What is being viewed as some kind of an external help, this year the amount of people watching The Witcher on Netflix have gone way up sparking interest in the game series. Although there are speculations that Ubisoft might just get back ahead in the race after the launch of the new title in the Assassin’s Creed series Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. But on the other end of the spectrum CD Projekt has also been creating hype with the upcoming release of their latest game Cyberpunk 2077.
They confirmed that after a few delays due to the COVID crisis and the developers working from home, the game is set to release somewhere in September. Here you can watch the trailer of the new game,
The company also told that they will be looking to work on more Witcher spin offs in the future but as of now they are completely dedicated on the release of Cyberpunk 2020, as they recently celebrated the 5th year anniversary of The Witcher 3:Wild Hunt on 19th May,
