Smart watches- The future of gaming?

smart watch gaming

It may be more likely than you think!

Historically, watches have served one purpose and one purpose only- that is, to tell the wearer of the watch the time. To their credit, they have done the job with great diligence and dedication. They have even expanded so as to include the features of a stopwatch and an alarm clock, provided you have the money for a digital watch.

Smartwatches- What are they and do they have what it takes to run a game?

But the advent of smartphones changed even something as simple as a wristwatch. The latest wristwatches ( or “smartwatches” as they are now known) can now track your calorie consumption, measure your total steps taken and help you with your exercise routine. They can also help you make and manage calls, along with reading texts you receive on your phone.

But even with all these advancements, it would still seem impossible for a watch to run a game; the lack of a usable interface and OS being a primary concern.

But if new reports and experts are to be believed, smartwatches may be the future for online gaming. For games with relatively simple requirements for a user interface (such as Space war and infinity loop) it is possible to run them on a smart watch. And they are not the only ones

Some of the Smart Watches Gaming option you can try are:

  1. Lifeline 2: Bloodline (android)
  2. Papercraft (android)
  3. Rubik’s cube (android)
  4. Galaxia (android)
  5. Rules! ( apple watch)
  6. Trivia Check ( apple watch)
  7. Field day ( apple watch)
  8. Letter Zap ( apple watch)

So while it may be true that video games on smart watches are facing some hiccups. There’s no doubt that Video Games are coming to smart watches in a big way. Likes of PUBG, COD, Asphalt or Clash of Clans will be dream come true on Smartwatches.
