CCall of Duty : Warzone hits 50 million players just a month after its launch. The free-to-play battle Royale Game is developed by Infinity ward. This game has cross platform play between PS 4, Xbox One and PC. The game’s previous milestones were reaching 6 million players in 24 hours , 15 million players in four days and 30 million players in ten days. In its most recent update a solo mode and four player squad were added.
Warzone has hit the 50 million player mark at the same pace as competitor Apex Legends. Activision Blizzard and developers Infinity Ward had announced the news via Twitter. The game was released just as the world was going into lockdown. It is fair to say that social distancing has contributed to the game’s success.
To play Call of Duty : Warzone one does not require the full version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Warzone is set in the vast and dense city of Verdansk where up to 150 players will fight it out for victory. When you land in the Verdansk you only have a pistol. The player then has to hunt for better weapons. During matches players can use their money to purchase a loadout drop or if you are lucky you get a random loadout drop. The game has two distinct modes – Battle Royale and Plunder. For the owners of COD: Modern Warfare,Warzone will replace the ‘classified’ panel in the main menu.
Call of Duty : Warzone has been enjoying a ton of new content thanks to the release of Call of Duty : Modern Warfare season 3. But the developers Infinity Ward have not stopped there. As of today a new limited time mode is available.
The “Scopes and Scatter Guns Trios” reduces Warzone’s weapon pool to sniper rifles and shotgun. Activision describes it as a “twist on Battle Royale that brings you into new ranges of play.” Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is also getting a double XP and double weapon XP weekend from Friday. This includes all of the experience points you have in Warzone. The double XP period goes live from April 17 at 10AM PT/ 10:30PM IST/ 1 PM ET until April 20 at 10 AM/ 10:30 IST.
The game is good at keeping you occupied. Even after you die you get to play 1-on-1 matches with other players. Once you’re killed you go to a Gulag. If you win the 1-v-1 you can parachute back into the game with your existing squad. You can also purchase a return at a “buy station”.
