Day 8 of Dreamhack masters Spring 2020 played out yesterday with a rejuvenated Fnatic keeping their hopes alive in the competition. Faze won their second match with “bymas” as stand in while 100 Thieves and Gen.G began their journey in the competition.
Here is a review of how things played on day 8 of DreamHack Masters Spring 2020.
1. Europe Group C
Faze faced a impressive Team Spirit in the first match, with the winner guaranteeing itself a place in the next round. Faze came out victorious in a long drawn battle winning 2-1. Spirit won their pick on Train winning 16-7 before losing the other two games in overtime. Faze picked Dust II 19-15 and closed out Nuke with an even close score winning 19-17.
Faze edged out the series but it was “iDISBALANCE” with the most kills in the series. “bymas” impressed once again with some insane spray transfers on displays in pivotal rounds.
Fnatic were up against GODSENT in the second match with both squads struggling for consistency. Fnatic came out victorious 2-1 in a back and forth affair and keeping their hopes alive. Fnatic lost Nuke in overtime losing 15-19 but relied with a close victory on Inferno winning 16-14. The final map of Train was then a mop up of their opponents as the Swedes came out victorious 16-3. “KRiMZ” imressed with 69 kills to his name with “flusha” providing him able support.
2. North America Group B
100 Thieves faced off against ESL One: Road to Rio NA champions Gen.G in the squads first game of the competition. Gen.G came in as a confident side only to lose out against a recharged 100 Thieves side. It was a 2-0 victory for 100 T who silenced all critics playing a solid game. They won 16-14 on Train and closed the series winning 16-8 on Overpass. “jks” was back as the leader of killing charts topping with 49 kills.
With the victory, Day 8 of DreamHack Masters Spring 2020 came to an end, with Gen.G requiring work if they wish to qualify for the next stage.
Note:- DreamHack Masters Spring 2020 was originally to take place in Jonkoping, Sweden but was shifted online due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The compeition will now have four regional events all taking place in between from 19th May to 14th June. 32 teams have been divided on their regional baese; Asia, Oceania, Europe & North America.
