Day 9 of DreamHack Masters Spring 2020- Review

DreamHack Masters Spring 2020

Day 9 of Dreamhack Masters Spring 2020 witnessed a change in schedule with Team Spirit unable to participate due to “Mir”‘s internet issue. So, it Group D started off yesterday with Na’Vi taking on Team Vitality in the first game. The other Group C match between Faze and Fnatic took place as schedule while NA group B continued,

Here is the recap of how each game panned out on Day 9 of Dreamhack Masters Spring 2020.

1. Europe Group D

Na’Vi faced off against a largely confident Vitality who were looking to pull of a upset against the CIS giants. They started very brightly winning the first map 16-6 on Nuke. Vitality were even leading 14-9 on Na’Vi’s pick of Dust II to come close to a 2-0 against Na’Vi. But this is when Na’Vi woke up and dismantled Vitality. They first won 7 straight rounds to win Dust II and closed the series winning Overpass 16-9. “electronic” was the most influential player on the Na’Vi side who for once did not rely on “s1mple”‘s antics.

2. Europe Group C

Fnatic faced Faze in a match where they needed to win to confirm their progression into the next stage. But with Faze looking solid albeit with the addition of “bymas” and Fnatic going through a rough patch of form there was only team who could win. It was Faze who defeated the Swedes winning 2-0. Faze won 16-14 on Dust II and 16-13 on Overpass and solidfiy their position as the group leaders. “niko” was back to his best and ended the series with 51 kills across the two maps.

It was Gen.G who came out victorious winning 2-1. Gen.G defeated EG on Train winning 16-8 but EG replied with a resounding win on Inferno. EG though couldn’t complete the comeback on Vertigo losing narrowly 13-16 to reamin bottom of the group. “BnTeT” was the top performer with 59 kills to his name in the 3 maps played to end Day 9 of Dreamhack Masters Spring 2020.

EG now need to win their final game against the 100 Thieves and need other results to go their way to have a chance of qualifying in the next stage.
