ABOUT SAMURAI SHODOWN

Samurai Shodown is a fighting game series by Shin Nihon Kikaku Corporation. It began in 1993 and it is also known as Samurai Spirits in Japan.

All the series of Samurai Shodown are based on 18^th century of Japan (Sakoku) including foreign born characters and some fictional monsters as a part of the story. Story of each game is quite different but based on few central groups of characters and region in Japan. This game portrays the culture of Japan.

Samurai Shodown was famous for its remarkable feature “RAGE” GAUGE. It is a meter which increases when player receives damages and there are certain effects when it is fully activated depending on the games.

SAMURAI SHODOWN LEGACY

Throwing the light on legacy of Samurai Shodown, it launched its series almost every year since 1993. Till 1999, players enjoyed the series every year. After that Samurai Shodown V was released in 2003. The latest series are Samurai Shodown and Samurai Shodown Neo Geo Collection launched in 2019 and 2020 respectively after a gap of decade.

SAMURAI SHODOWN 2019

Samurai Shodown 2019 was released after a long gap of 11 years. In 2008, Samurai Shodown Sen was released. It is a prequel of Samurai Shodown. It is the first game of SNK in which they used Unreal Engine.

SAMURAI SHODOWN NEOGEO COLLECTION

Samurai Shodown NeoGeo Collection was developed by Digital Eclipse and was planned to launch in 2019 but was launched in 2020. It is featured with multiplayers, historical museums, music and artwork. In this series, Kuroko seems to be the strongest warrior but later it was revealed to be organized by Yoshitora himself. The control consists of four buttons- weak, medium, strong blows with weapons and kick. The Rage Gauge , their remarkable feature is back in the game.
