Today’s blog might come as a surprise to many of you. We are talking about IQ Esports, Canada’s first esports education company. Yes you heard this right. It is an academic institution that teaches esports.
You can pursue PhD in sciences such as psychology, game development and physical therapy.
They quote on their website “IQ esports is dedicated to helping gaming enthusiasts of all levels learn to improve their play and build core and transferable skills for careers in the esports industry and helping build personal skills for those who want to enter a more traditional workforce.”
Although this again may come as a surprise to you but esports education has slowly but surely has taken it’s place as a professional course worldwide such as Robert Morris University in America or The Lanxiang Technical School in China etc.
These courses focus on improving the gaming skills on the students along with other things such as game development, gaming psychology etc. The most popular however I feel is the esports course offered by University of California Irvine or popularly known as UCI. Reportedly it was the first university to offer such a course and is the best course in the given subject worldwide. The program at UCI also features a UCI Esports Arena which supports all the gaming clubs on campus.
IQ esports too features many courses that suit people of all ages. It has courses ranging from micro-credit courses to full certificate programs. It also offers support for esports teams of different colleges. If you have a separate esports club or a team IQ esports academy features a course supporting that too.
This basically might be a dream coming too for so many of you. Remember when our parents used to say that these games are up to no good, but in fact they can be turned into full fledged careers now. So if you are somebody who thinks that gaming is life this is the road that you might want to take.
