PUBG has always been that game that keeps working on and on to provide the players with updates and news features every week. And this includes introducing new Maps, which being honest take a lot of time. A simple 6*6 km map takes at-least 6-8 months to build from scratch. Down below we’ll be discussing and taking an overview of the various PUBG maps. For each maps below we’ll be discussing them briefly and then point out characteristics as well to keep you well informed about the in-game advantages, disadvantages, strengths and weaknesses of each.
It is the most common and widely used map in PUBG and is almost synonymous with the game itself. It can be concluded that it is a Russian map by the name of the cities. Through various information spread throughout the internet. Talking about its background Gamepedia quotes, “Erangel is a fictional island in the black sea abandoned near Russia where a military occupation was controlling it.” And “After a resistance attack on a biological facility, the island had to be abandoned” . As it is a big map to go from one major point to another facilitates the use of vehicles which get spawned in the map itself. Major cities include Georgopol, Novorepnoye, Pochinki, Yasnaya Polyana; while some of the minor cities are Gatka, Kameshki, Lipovka, Mylta etc.

Miramar is a desert map which includes highly packed urban areas making it a great map for long range combat and sniping. It is a Mexican map which consists various sites and rugged terrain. Apart from the roads any other route between 2 landmarks is either occupied by a canyon or a mountain. Both of them leaves the player vulnerable to long range sniping.
Major cities include Chumacera, El Pozo, La Cobreria and others while some of the minor ones are Cruz del Valle, El Azahar, Impala.

This is the first PUBG map for which a team was specifically sent to Asian humid forest areas to physically determine what the map should look like. The map is inspired by forest islands off Thailand and the Philippines. “Fun” trivia The Thai word for “fun” is pronounced as “sah-nook” which is where the name of the map comes from. Major sites in the map include Ban Tai, Camp Alpha, Camp Bravo etc and some of the minor ones are Tambang, Temple/Ruins, Quarry.

Vikendi is an island located in the Adriatic sea, a body of water separating the Italian Peninsula with the Balkan Peninsula. Most of the map is covered in snow. This allows for footprints from the enemy to be left behind making it easier for players to spot other players.
The map is inspired by Slovenia. Some of the major sites are Dobro Mesto, Goroka, Podvosto and the minor ones Trevno, Vihar, Zabava etc.
