PUBG in a recent tweet announced the release of the “Cold Front Survival” mode in the game. Although it has been in beta phase for a while now. But now Tencent has officially announced the release of this new survival mode on April 16th.
Thanks to some leaks and also people using the beta version this is what we know about the mode as of now.
Now obviously there were some basics that are clear from the beginning itself. Extreme cold will be added to the Vikendi map making it more of a survival game and involving less combat. Players will have to survive the extreme cold by either of the two ways, staying in the buildings or by lighting a fire. In order to light a fire you will have to collect wood, hunt animals such as chicken and reindeer.
But the catch is that there are only a few places you can light up a fire. Apart from these changes snowboards will also be available for players to ski down the slopes as well as the new item which is a drone. With drones players can fly them and spot enemies on ground.
The other big change in PUBG Cold Frost Survival Mode is the addition of snowstorms in the map which are somewhat like blue zones. Snowstorm is when you will have to either stay in the building or light a fire. So in a way you will get 2 timers one for the blue zone and one for the snow storm. You need to note that even if you are in the building even then you will lose some of your health.
