Naman Mathur aka Mortal – Amazing No 1 PUBG Star

Gaming is just fun for many but at the same time can serve as a medium of livelihood for few. When PUBG mobile was launched in India in June 2019 who would have thought it could transform the lives of those playing it. One of them is a Maharashtra born boy Mortal also known as Naman Mathur.

From being a college student to a PUBG star Naman’s life turned upside down.

A boy whose first priority used to be studies changed into playing PUBG with a blink of an eye. Some of us may say luck, some hard work but I believe it was the opportunity he got that made him successful.

Naman Mathur Mortal’s Personal Life

Naman Mathur is a PUBG player in a team called Soul. Apart from him, the team includes three other players named Owais, Viper, Ronak.

Born on 22nd May 1996 in a Maharashtrian family, Mortal’s first priority was academics. Having lost his father at an early age all he had left was his mother and a younger brother. Being the elder brother is a position of responsibility and Naman took that very seriously. He is quite qualified and holds a degree of Bachelors in Commerce (B.com).

He had plans to pursue LLB but PUBG changed the course of his journey and he went with the flow never looking back even at once. In one of his interviews, he said that a counter strike is one of his favorite games.

Earlier Naman Mathur used to upload videos of mini militia on Youtube but did not gain any popularity until PUBG was launched on 20th June 2018. He started streaming live on Youtube and one of his videos got viral with around 5.5 million views within a month and currently has 9 million views that have made him a superstar overnight.

He runs his own channel by the name Mortal that has 4.13 million subscribers and has uploaded around 550 videos as I write about it.

Talking about his love life, he has a girlfriend whose name is Raven and she is also a PUBG player. In one of the live streams, Mortal proposed her.

Professional Life

Naman Mathur carreer is soaring high in the sky with a monthly earning of about $7.8K to $ 124K. According to Captain India, an Indian Youtuber, Mortal earns around 23,741 Rs per hour through live streams. Recently, the elite mobile brand One Plus sponsored him which is a great accomplishment for a boy of his age. His simple funda of Eat Sleep PUBG repeat clearly indicates his seriousness for the sport.

Mortal plays continuously for about 6-7 hours per day. He wants to expand his team and for an eSports company of his own. He has no future plans to work for some other company. Mortal has multiple sources of income apart from YouTube and revenue like Ad Sense, Super chats, PayTM/ Google Pay donations and memberships.

When he used to play mini militia he followed the 3 finger control technique. Slowly and gradually he mastered it and in no time it became his cup of tea. When PUBG was launched he started with his 3 finger control technique but in order to make his skills more dynamics he ended up switching to 4 finger clay techqnique.

His channel got the highest number of subscribers on his video ” Oppo India Star Challenge”.He got 55 K subscribers on a single day. His channel is growing at the rate of 5000 subscribers per hour.

Naman Mathur aka Mortal’s Achievements

Naman Mortal Mathur team won the PUBG mobile India series 2019 along with huge prize money of Rs 30 lakh. His team got 46 kills with 2520 game points in the entire tournament.

Soul also won the PMCO India Regionals on 15th June 2019. This tournament saw 16 teams battle against each other and played 16 matches. They won the tournament with 254 game points with a prize amounting to $60,000 along with an opportunity to represent India in the PMCO International.

He promoted the movie URI along with actor Vicky Kaushal on his YouTube channel and an Instagram account where he can be seen standing beside Mr. Kaushal.

Life gives everyone a chance but only a few of them have that capability to make the most of it. Legends are never born, they are made out of hardships. When Mortal’ family did not support him, he never lost hope and continued playing along with his studies and completed his B.com with flying colors. We should try to learn from someone’s success rather than envying him or her. Naman Mathur aka Mortal’s story is of a boy from rags to riches who became famous overnight but didn’t forget his real identity and worked hard in his life to become a man he is now.
