In a rather surprising news, famous Overwatch Player Sinatraa has decided to retire from the game. The Overwatch League (OWL) 2019 MVP announced quite quickly that he will be parting from his team the San Fransisco Shock to play the newly released Game Valorant. His team bid him a farewell on twitter,
Valorant is a game by developer Riot Games. It has not been launched yet. It is set to be released for Microsoft Windows in the summer of this year. Although a closed Beta version of the game was released on April 7, 2020.
According to ESPN Sinatraa will be joining Sentinels Esports organisation. Sinatraa is one of the most widely acclaimed players in the game’s history. He signed a contract with Shock when he was 17 even though he wasn’t allowed to play the league. Once he became eligible he led Team USA to win the gold medal at the 2019 Overwatch World Cup. In a post on TwitLonger the player describes why he wanted to leave this game including reasons such as “it was 2-2-2 lock maybe it was bans im not sure”. In the post he also thanked various people including his teammates at the San Francisco Shock.
Since the launch of beta, Sinatraa has been active in streaming his play of the new game Valorant on Twitch. Although he is the first of the known players to make a switch to the tactical-first person but watching more and more people getting interested in the new game, he might not be the last.
