In what comes as a very big shock to most of the league of legend players the famous League of Legends player Wang “WeiYan” Xiang has been banned by the LPL (Legends Pro League) for a time period of two years for match-fixing. This comes 3 days after The Jungler Wang “WeiYan” Xiang was dropped from his roster Rogue Warriors. Rogue Warriors stated that the player had violated regulations of the team.
LPL further said that an investigation was carried in the above matter. LPL told that the player had violated various rules. And exclaimed that the player had “knowingly participated in illegally incentivized activities. Also They had intentions to disrupt the fairness of the league”.
The punishment as given by LPL states a ban of 2 years till 27th of March 2022! It barres him from participating in professional League of Legends. Also a fine of 3 million Yuan ( $420,000) has been imposed on the roster Rogue Warriors for not keeping the player in check.
Providing clarification as to why such a big fine has been imposed on the roster, the LPL wrote in a tweet the following
In response to this the player WeiYan issued a statement on the Chinese Website Weibo. He stated that although he had initially accepted the offer for match fixing. But later on he did not take any money, while also backing out of the offer. Although he accepted the decision of the Rogue Warriors, he stated that he did not take part in any action which would have violated the sanctity of the League. Now only time will tell how long does WeiYan stays Banned
