Garena Free Fire Overview , developed and published by Garena Studios is a mobile battle royale game. Since its launch in 2018, the game has crossed over 500 million downloads on Google Play in February of 2020 making it one of the most popular mobile battle Royale games. Due to its widespread popularity the game was awarded the title of “Best Popular Vote Game” by Google Play Store in 2019. As of November 2019 the game had a total 450 million users and had grossed over a whopping $1 billion worldwide.
Garena are currently working on an advanced version of this game which will be called Free Fire Max.
As mentioned earlier the game belongs to the genre of battle royale. It is played in third person perspective. When a player joins a game he/she will enter a play which will fly over an island. The player can choose to jump off the plane at any point. Upon landing the player must load themselves with weapons, grenades and other items found across the island. The goal is simple, which is to survive till the end.
Comparisons to PUBG mobile are inevitable given how big the game has become in this genre. Having said that Free Fire is more or less similar to PUBG mobile but not in every aspect. The arenas and weapons are different, the number of people in each round is restricted to 50-51 in Free Fire as compared to PUBG mobile. However the biggest advantage that Free Fire has over PUBG mobile is the space it occupies. While, PUBG mobile takes upto 1.9GB Garena Free Fire occupies about 450 MB overall.
In terms of visuals the game’s textures are extremely high definition, the colours are bright and vibrant, animations are amazing and most important of all character designs are incredibly realistic. This game offers an insane variety of weapons which allow players to change their strategy and gameplay with each round. The title has become a significant financial success for Garena. An overall fun game to play especially if battle royale excites you.
