N0tail has been banned from Twitch for an undisclosed amount of time.
One of DOTA’s living legends, n0tail has been banned from twitch. The two-time Dota TI winner has been banned due to reasons not yet revealed. N0tail was suspended from Twitch on December 26 for an unknown period of time.
Story behind the Notail Twitch ban
Since 0tail isn’t known for being particularly active on twitch, he decided to gift his 100,000 followers a surprise gift on christmas. He streamed with Wehsing “SingSing” Yuen and Janne “Gorgc” Stefanovski, two other popular Dota 2 streamers.
This is where all the trouble began apparently, as the OG captain apparently uttered some homophobic slurs in reference to his hero pool. He apparently used the word “Fa***t” and the word “Gay” in a derogatory term. This is all speculation, however as Twitch is yet to come out with an official explanation yet. Twitch does however, have a very strict policy against hateful content. According to Twitch, hateful content is “any content or activity that promotes, encourages, or facilitates discrimination, denigration, objectification, harassment, or violence based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, medical condition, physical characteristics, or veteran status”. This, along with the fact that n0tail didn’t breach any other rules of twitch, gives this theory its plausibility.
Twitch is yet to come out with an official explanation regarding the reason and duration of the ban.
So what’s next?
N0tail is well-known in the DOTA community for being OG’s captain. And being one of the few people to have won The International twice, with the same rooster. Keeping his popularity in consideration, his ban is most likely to be non-permanent in nature, on the condition that he issued a public apology.
Even in the worst-case scenario, n0tail twitch ban will only for a week. Hopefully returning as a man more careful with his words.
