Mousesports snatched victory from the jaws of defeat as they defeated ENCE to win their first championship with their new roster, taking away a grand prize of $250,000.
While few were surprised that Mousesports and ENCE made it to the finals, Mousesports definitely took the harder route, as they qualified to the playoffs from the second place, putting them in the quarter-finals while ENCE directly qualified for the semi-finals via their 1st place finish in the group stage.
In the final, the two teams clashed on two maps: Train and Inferno. Mousesports pulled off various comebacks and clutches to grab a 16-11 win, avenging their previous loss to ENCE which had forced them to struggle through the quarterfinal round.
Two players which really stood out were David “frozen” Čerňanský and Özgür “woxic” Eker, who helped the team perform quick executions on the ‘B’ Bombsite on Train, which really took the game away from ENCE’s hands.
Mousesports were equally impressive in the quarterfinals and semifinal rounds, as they took out Evil Geniuses and TYLOO to finally prove their mettle after a somewhat lackluster CSGO season.
