Counter Strike GO

ESL Pro League Season 10 Grand Finals Preview

The ESL Pro League Season 10 is almost at its end with only 2 teams remaining in contention. The two teams left, Fnatic and Mousesports both were massive underdogs before the start of the competition. But credit should be given where it is due, as both these teams have played some phenomenal counter strike. Fnatic beat an inform Na’Vi 2:1 while Mouz beat a more fancied opponent Astralis with the same scoreline.

The tournament as progressed has taken many unexpected turns and it is thus fitting to have two finalists with an equal shot of lifting the trophy. The final will be played in a Bo5 format with each team allowed to ban 1 map of their choice. Here is the preview of the grand finals:

The lead up to the grand finals is all about the determination, grit, mental strength along with the raw talent and potential these two teams have shown. Also at the helm of both these teams are experienced IGL’s who have built this team from scratch.

Fnatic

Starting of with Fnatic, one of the first powerhouses of Counter Strike Global Offensive who are aiming to ge their crown back after some blips in the middle(recent) years. Fnatic throughout the years have been known to play fearless and aggressive Counter Strike and that is exactly what they bring to the table. Individuals like “flusha” and “JW” often play mind games on their opponents and usually come out on top most of the times. The firepower comes from “krimz” and “brollan” who have performed admirably throughout the tournament.

Mousesports

As for Mousesports it is “chrisJ” who always came up with the goods when his team requires him the most. Mousesports have a lot of firepower and “a lot” here is a bit of under statement considering the potential that players have on this roster. The young guns “Woxic”, “Ropz” and “frozen” have the potential to take any team down on their own. “Woxic” and “Ropz” lately have been in brilliant form and also are in contention of winning the MVP if Mouz take the grand finals. Both are among the top 5 rated players at the tournament. In the past, “karrigan” led teams have hit a roadblock in the Grand Finals and this may be the perfect time to redeem all of that by winning the EPL in front of his home crowd.

Predictions

Now comes the most difficult part of the segment. With both these teams upsetting perhaps the 4 best team in the world( Team Liquid and Na’Vi for Fnatic, EG and Astralis for Mouz) it is any one’s game to be honest. But considering the slight experience advantage Fnatic have they may able to edge it out. The advantage here is very minimal but it is all these minimal advantages that often decide a Grand Final.

Vetoes

With both teams allowed one ban it is sure that Fnatic will ban Vertigo. As for Mousesports they should ban Overpass considering it is a very strong pick for Fnatic. The rest are obviously left to be selected.
