Counter strike’s co-creator Minh Le is developing a new MMO game named Plan 8. Which as per trailers and announcements will have a gameplay which has been never seen before.
Pear Abyss, the game development studio has Plan 8 in the works which has Minh Le in the development team.
Le’s was one of the co-creators of Counter Strike. Which as well know has been one of the best first person shooting games of all time. Counter Strike launched two decades ago as a mod for Half Life. The game was an instant hit among the fans which forced Valve, Half Life creators to purchase Counter Strike and add it to their library.
Plan 8 as described by the developers is an “exosuit MMO shooter”
Designed to integrate action-packed gameplay and realistic graphics with open-world MMO elements. It builts on Pearl Abyss’ own proprietary game engine. The exosuits are said to contain superhuman power and extraordinary capabilities which can be equipped with multiple “Gears” .
As seen in the trailer , different exosuits have different abilities , like slicing through charging enemies or sprouting drone wings when a player jumps out of a window. The suits are designed to have more of a Mad Max feel to it which in itself is an interesting idea. As is the case in any shooting game, weapons are expected to play an important role in the game. The weapons can also be modified accordingly “based on the player creative ideas”.
We can expect a wide variety of different customization for players and some high voltage human vs robotic violence from the limited footage available from the net. Though set in a more of a fictional world than Counter Strike. Minh Le’s ability to craft engaging multiplayer levels is expected to shine through and make the game successful. Going from the title and the vast customization of Metal Gear Solid boss characters to choose upon, the game looks to be on the right path.
