According to a report from mobile analytics group Sensor Tower, Candy Crush Soda Saga has now generated over $2 billion in lifetime revenue. The game launched in mid-2014 has been downloaded more than 410 million times.
“There aren’t many other games to have earned this much,The original Candy Crush Saga has grossed more than $5 billion, Pokémon GO hit $3 billion in lifetime revenue recently, and Lineage M passed the $2 billion mark. Also, Dragon Ball Z: Dokkan Battle hit the $2 billion milestone.” said Katie Williams, an analyst at SensorTower told GameDaily.
The battle Royal genre has really had a large impact in the mobile sector. Games like Fortnite and PUBG are yet to reach $2 billion in revenue on mobile platforms. However Sensor Tower does expect PUBG to reach $1.5 in total lifetime revenue in the next few months.
Candy Crush Soda Saga has made most of its money in the United States which has accounted for a total of $1.1 billion of the $2 billion total. Around the world, the game has over 410 million downloads. About 76% of those come from Google Play. Apple users,however,spend more than their Android counterparts. The average of iPhone users spends $9.37 on the game, compared to $3.24 per download on Android.
Candy Crush Soda Saga is the second game in the Candy Crush series. Created by King, other games in this series this includes Candy Crush Saga, Candy Crush Jelly Saga and Candy Crush Friends Saga. Apart from this King includes numerous other freemium titles that have pushed the Activision-owned company to $450 million Q3 in 2019.
