Things haven’t been going too well for the HR Dota 2 roster in the new season. It has been 3 months since they the CIS team placed 3rd at the Dota Summit 11 Minor. And the roster has gone through another roster change.HR have released over half of its roster for the second time in two months. Before signing three new players on 27th January. The statement is all the more astonishing as it only signed its previous roster in September!
Captain Yaroslav “Miposhka” Naidenov and Alexander “Nix” Levin are the two players who have survived both these changes. They remain as the core of the team.
Nikita “Elmo” Lomalin, Pavel “bowbowbow” Mostakov, and Oleg “sayuw” Kalenbet are the players who faced the axe and now are currently without a team. Former Natus Vincere veteran Gleb “Funn1k” Lipatnikov along with two youngsters were the replacements.
Arslan “xannii” Shadjanov one of the young players recently had a relatively successful loan spell with Vega Squadron earlier this year. His signing puts an end to all rumours linking him to join Danil “Dendi” Ishutin’s new team.
HR Dota 2 Georgiy “Gilgir” Svistunov, the other signing is a very popular Twitch streamer!
Gilgir hasn’t been involved in the Dota Pro Circuit before. The coach Alexandr “Accell” Litvinenko has also been in the CIS scene for a few years but alike “Gilgir” is new to the circuit. Signing for HR will be a new experience for both with expectations at an all time high.
“We fell just short of making it to the Minor in the previous qualifiers, HellRaisers CEO Alex “Magician” Slabukhin said, “Many were upset, but we didn’t give up. Throughout January, we’ve been putting together a lineup and trying different players, which was mostly on Nix, who I fully trust. The roster comprises both experienced guys (Funn1k and xannii) and new blood (Gilgir, coach Accell.)”
The new roster will be seen in action as early as 28th January. With the team set to compete in Hainan Master Spring Invitational. The CIS scene looks open in terms of top teams. So there is a chance that the new roster can shake up the scene more. They are expected to perform well for DPC qualifiers.
